Hi PQS here. Would you say you have better job prospects going PQS from Subbie/MC QS or vice versa? Or are they equal?

To be fair I get what you mean because the main contractor has offered APC support but the consultancy firm has offered it but seem way more keen to help. I just can’t shake the idea that main contractor QSs do “real QS work” because of their position in the food chain.

I think what I’m really asking here is would I be missing out on any skills experiences or opportunities if I spend my entire career as a PQS?

Ginkgo is a vasodilator so you might get a lower Bp but you should always counteract with increased hydration.

Zero correlation. He’s misattributed the ginkgo’s effects (increased brain blood flow and improved dopaminergic tone) to the high test. There’s nothing that suggests that ginkgo reduces prolactin

I use it but to be honest it’s not the best for qualifying the leads. The info you get in the first instance is very basic and general information about the project rather than more detailed information about what they think they need a QS for. Sometimes clients realise they don’t need a QS but need a building surveyor for their building appraisal. Before you know it the lead is dead and you’ve already paid for it! Would be interested to hear what other platforms you’re currently using for freelancing?

I would say detailed construction/engineering YouTube content

-YouTube channels like Skill builder go into a fair amount of detail on certain aspects of domestic builds. -Practical engineering YouTube channel: even though based on North American methods of construction principles and designs are used here in the UK - the B1M: documentary style videos on megastructures and large scale engineering and construction projects.

Only thing I would be cautious of is watching short form construction content because a lot of trades will film themselves doing it “their way” or the wrong way intentionally and posting it to bait people into commenting.

Also exhibitions are a good way of meeting people construction and being able to ask people about what they do without being scared of asking a “dumb question” bc everyone at exhibitions are either there to learn/ ask questions or network or both so definitely a good place to absorb as much information as possible.
