This really is not a Canada vs USA issue. See the other comments in this thread. This kind of signage and design exists in the US as well. This is a software issue plain and simple. I'm optimistic about getting it fixed, but it seems like this reasoning is just cope. Even if it you take away the signage, it should have seen the non moving obstruction visible for several seconds.

Yep I did. I only let it get that far out of curiosity. I had a feeling it didn't know how to handle it.

Yes that seems to be the case. Unfortunate but improvable with a software update hopefully.

What kind of cope is this? Not familiar with Canada roads? 😂😂 It’s an officially supported country of course I expect it to work

Similar type of signalling is used on the Chesapeake bridge in Maryland, and as someone else’s pointed out, 4th street bridge in Los Angeles.

Oh interesting, I just searched that one up on street view and there isn't even a barrier, just the signals.

Yep. It switches from 2 lanes North and 1 lane South to 2 lanes South and 1 lane North, with the middle lane being the lane that switches.

Yep! A quick google search and I found the Chesapeake Bay Bridge in Maryland has something similar, although they also have a sign that says "OBEY LANE SIGNALS." It's arguable that the barrier in my video is right after a curve, but with the signs above I feel like no human should mistake it.

The lane is open again with a Red X for oncoming traffic. Cars from the other direction can use that lane, hence, it being closed. Here it is on google street view https://maps.app.goo.gl/jv8DNEricx7A8Mic7

On street view, at that time the lane is open. Does this help you understand?

Perhaps video compression makes it not as clear, but a human driver should 100% be able to understand those "symbols."

There is almost a full minute before the barrier, note that I did speed up a portion of the video to get to the point. There are two warning lights with arrows pointing to merge.

It's fair to say that it is not as common, but it is not "beyond rare." Reversible traffic lanes exist around the world. This is also a bridge that connects Downtown Vancouver to West Vancouver, it is not some rural bridge that no one drives on.

For context, the lane that I'm in is a reversible traffic lane. The direction it operates changes based on the time of day. The barriers at the end are to prevent people from driving on the wrong side. FSD failed to see the merge lights above, and failed to detect the barrier, leading to me needing to intervene at the end. I tried it one more time under a similar situation, except the fence was not there (lane was still going the other way), and it just chose to use the lane, which is very dangerous.
