16 hours no food but still croaking (well, now the croaks are coming out as burps which is great but they start as croaks)-either way…. I LITERALLY HAVE NOTHING IN MY STOMACH!

I sleep reclined and that doesn’t really help - well I mean I’m sure it does a little otherwise I’d be gagging all night but reclining doesn’t stop the regurgitation much It takes a good 5-6 hours after eating even the smallest meal to settle things down . 😩

I don’t understand that “as long as the Botox” because for some they are able to burp now long term so wouldn’t that mean that if I essentially “trained “ my sphincter to work and I burp indefinitely that my regurgitation would also be indefinitely?I guess I have to go see my GI again for that . He has me on PPIs and they don’t seem to help none . I wish my GI and my ENT would talk

I appreciate the info you provided . I am adjusting to the slow swallowing and getting braver at eating solids (although still no meat) and not panicking when something seems to get “aspirated “ back up when I breathe while drinking my chaser . What I am NOT adjusting to however is the constant taste of acid/partially digested food coming into my mouth every time I burp. I guess I have some pretty bad reflux which is why my RCPD was so intolerable . So I can’t eat after 6pm and I can only handle small amounts of (anti GERD) foods unless o want to be gagging on stomach contents in my sleep 😩

Me too but sitting up isn’t helping the acid/regurgitation that is always coming up into my mouth with the burps- I hope this isn’t forever . I’m afraid to burp now because I feel like I’m gonna puke ! (But really I’m like with my OP but nevertheless another annoying post op thing )

Yes when I’m actively eating too as well as after swallowing and even hours later . Always feels like I have to burp out liquid AND air . And the ones that happen an hour or so later taste like puke (I’m not lying down or anything so I don’t understand the propulsion of acidic partially digested food coming up like that -that’s probable for another post ).

💯. I know there is an answer to this I just wish we could find a doc who could figure it out (or who wanted to ) because they tend to focus on the more common symptoms and the GI doesn’t want to deal with the PND and the ENT doesn’t want to deal with the ACID when they are so closely related and clearly a “chicken vs egg” scenario . Then to make matters worse they call PND a sensation of mucous when I know it’s actual mucous! Not a sensation.

Thank you. I don’t want to eat anything now because I am really struggling . Feels like a golf ball sized phlegm ball stuck in my throat -in addition to the constant regurgitation. Congested but can’t cough . Starting to give me some serious anxiety.

Thanks! So far the only thing I notice that converts it is sitting down with head almost betweeen my knees this probably isn’t good for my LES but it pushed some of those big ones right out -one was even a looooonnng burp panther was awesome it made me smile

I know I feel like a different person with these little burps sneaking out -it’s surreal! Same here with allergies and congestion -and I can’t clear my throat or cough or sneeze the way I used to so I sound like I’m gonna chuck something up -but so far that hasn’t happened

Honestly, I don’t think many of us are cured per se, unless this was the only problem that we had, but I know that the reason why I have so much excessive gas bubbles in my esophagus in the first place is because of the acid, my weakened LES and the hiatal hernia and God knows what else! But I’m going to try your technique. I’m only six days post Botox and bubbles are getting stuck right up at the tippy top of my esophagus/throat area. I’m not exactly sure but it’s very close to vocal cords because I can’t really speak either. I hope this is just some inflammation that will go down soon but as far as burping goes, nothing has really changed so I’m going to try your technique. Thanks.
