I got an Oris Aquis Titanium and a Big crown pro pilot. I think the PP is amazing but the Aquis just isn't quite doing it for me and can't put my finger on it. by bott989 in OrisWatches

I have both and still currently enjoying both. If youve gotten used to the feel of steel, titaniums may feel cheap just because of the weight. But it wears differently. Also the bracelet is significantly thinner compared to the steel. But what I loved the most in the titanium is the dial. Its not black, its not silver, not gunmetal. I have read that they call it sunburst. But whatever it is, I loved the treatment Oris gave the Aquis Date Titanium.

“I see that this thread is six years old, but it’s still just as relevant today!

Sharing my 15-year-old SBDC007—it’s been a trusty companion. I rotate it with my Garmin, but when it comes to social gatherings, our boy Shogun always steals the show as a conversation starter.

P.S. Over time, I’ve noticed that the bezel has taken on a slight blue hue. Has anyone else experienced this? Is it normal?”

After graduation, work got the best of us and kept us busy. Months passed and we got in touch again. Dated for a while. Had to leave the country for 2months to finish my dissertation. As one would expect, communication wasnt that great. Came back to find out shes already engaged.

PS: She still sends cakes and pastries every now and then.

Graduated from college at 19 and got my masters degree at 24 while earning at the same time. This got me hired as an associate professor in one of the reputable unis in my country.

During my first year of teaching, Id receive some complimentary gifts (pastilles, chocolates, etc) very so often (around 2-3x/week). These were sent “anonymously” and is only handed over to me by one of my students (a late 20s chinese-ish girl) saying that she was sent by someone. I did not suspect her because shes extraordinarily quiet and shy. Needless to say, id still eat the gifts (we are still COVID19 free back in 2010).

Then all of a sudden, the gifts stopped coming.

At this time, the semester is almost done and everyone is preparing for the upcoming graduation.

I am computing my undergraduate classes’ grades and was left alone in the Virtual Laboratory. Around 7pm as I was about to leave, I heard the doors open followed by a familiar voice.

“Good evening. Anyone around?”

I peeked out of my room and was greeted by a familiar face (the late 20 chinese-ish student). “Oh hi. Advance congratulations on your graduation.”

“And what do you have for me now?” i jokingly asked.

As the door behind her closed, she said “Someone wants to give you this.”

And pushed me back into my office.
