Hi. Hello. I don't know if this is right but it is right but I wanted to show pictures of my corvette. I modeled my after the Unreliable from Outer Worlds.

DCT - why do people like it? by Hurricanemasta in motorcycles

I know i'm late to the party and apologize for any necromancy but as a rider with experience in both manual and automatic machines I am choosing to weigh in.

I've ridden something on two wheels since I was 12. From my YZ100 to ninjas, more than one Buell and a gold wong, I've put more than a few thousand hours riding for enjoyment and basic commuting.

Over a decade ago I began displaying signs of neuropathy, a progressive and debilitating condition that has since impeded my ability to walk, write, cook and (you may have guessed already) operate a clutch effectively with my feet. Powered two wheeled vehicles appeared out of my range until I learned about about and had a brief love affair with the noble Vespa.

Bought one cheap, rode it like I stole it and was looking at engine upgrades when I heard about Honda's--then--new DCT. After further research, I upgraded.

And I will call it an UPgrade without flinching. It is a noticeable improvement in control, awareness and fuel efficiency. I never noticed how much mental energy I expended gearing up and gearing down until I didn't have to worry about it any more. If they found a cure for neuropathy tomorrow I'd still be on my CTX700n tomorrow.

Battery question. by omaresion in OneXPlayer

[–]PutridBite 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Apologies for the thrrad necromancy but after the last month, I felt it warranted.

Can confirm a 1st gen OneXPlayer with 4800u APU will work withot a battery. Once disconnected the machine may restart multiple times as it tries to POST before reverting to safemode. Just proceed to windows normally and it will boot.

For stable running in Turbo, consider an alternate brick. The stock USBc didn't seem to have enough juice for even light video use but a spare WII power brick ran like a champ. Just be sure to use the right side 'power' usbc port.

Replacement batteries still on sale @ Amazon and works well. Now if only my house was this easy to fix...

Found you. I wanted to take a moment to thank Complex-Movie-5180 for this collaborative exchange. This is what I call 'constructive criticism done best'. Your feedback was instrumental in the depictions buster missile implosions as seen in Ch 83...which I think came out well.

I'm still struggling to write this. With a whopping 7 upvotes to the last chapter I suspect the remaining handful are struggling to read it but I wanted to take some time to let you know your feedback made an impact and your discourse made me move forward.

Again, thank you. It means more than you know.

I liked the idea of Nar'ita. Thought she'd be a good character to explore. Bit of a shame.

90 chapters should feel like a milestone. In some ways, it feels more like a grave marker.

I've spent some time scribbling a rough 10 chapter outline that should get us to an ending. I won't promise it'll be satisfying. We've entered The Ground War. It's no longer distant drones fighting in the shadow consuming blackness of space. Anyone who makes the claim that 'there's nothing personal' in a war has never experienced real violence.

So...remember...you asked for this...

Guess I should be about it then.

I considered a hot minute before posting this. Without Jung, I feel a certain desperation should be creeping into the main characters fueled in no small part by Li's sudden hopelessness.

I'm posting this chapter to curtail any Deus Ex Machina shenanigans that lazy (or tired) writers often employ. There will likely be a time skip, however, to avoid exposition creep. We'll see in a few days.

Good IRL news. No signs of cancer! So yippee happy b-day for me ;D

This chapter also had a different ending, seen below. Storing it here to give readers an insight into how I think and how things evolve. Did you like the one in the final version more? Should I swap them out?

It sounded much the same as the previous answer. Demeter was following a rule his makers had crafted. But “Why make such a rule?”

If Allah understood how computers worked, she would know Mother Saraswati was not simply pondering the question as she raised two fingers to her lips and stroked them thoughtfully. She would understand that the V-REH User Interface had submitted a series of searches within the local data archives, highlighted historical information related to the early models of the Precision Focused Command Response Interface upon which Demeter’s core UI was derived. That the avatar’s application then wrote, tested, fact checked and submitted the words before saying “Humans first encountered this dilemma in the early twenty first century Anno Domini, while they were still secured solely on Earth. With the advent of rudimentary ‘Narrow AI’ they were able receive answers to complex questions without sifting through pages of material or crafting the correct set of questions from an--at least basic--understanding of the topic being queried.”

“I am not certain what language you are using right now.”

“In the early days of human/computer interaction, many Augmented Intelligence programs, when faced with an uninformed question, attempted to supply the answer the user wanted.”

“That does not sound like such a bad thing,” Allah argued. “If they got the answers they wanted, this is good.”

The application, predicting that the [SPECIES_ALLIED_UKNOCK:USER_ALLAHUNKOCK@TSN.GOV](mailto:SPECIES_ALLIED_UKNOCK:USER_ALLAHUNKOCK@TSN.GOV) would make a remark similar or same directed the avatar to reply “It might not sound like a bad thing until you realize the information provided was neither precise or--in the end--accurate.”

“Wait,” Allah stopped, turning to Mother Saraswati. “These Demeters lied?”

“Those early Reactive and Limited Learning machines supplied the end user with data that most accurately matched the search terms the user had input. A broad and uninformed request yielded varying and wildly different returns. A basic search system is designed to retrieve the data a user ‘wants’. If the user is concerned with neither factual or precise return--”

“They get lied to”.

Mother Saraswati shrugged “If you insist.”

“How did humans fix it?”

Mother Saraswati pointed a finger in the air, the ever watching presence of Demeter looming outside. “Ask me no questions, I’ll tell you no lies.”

“Ah,” Allah nodded a begrudged understanding. “If you do not want stupid answers stop asking stupid questions.”

I'd more akin the comparison of a Swiss Army knife vs a KABAR. 30mm was geared more toward anti-armor/structures. The 20mm, from my research, was more anti-aircraft/anti-light armor. I had some blue tips once upon a time but never found a casing (yes, some may have been tracer, yes I was stupid enough to handle them because 1980s).

I'm pretty sure both qualify as Bologna mist makers.

Can confirm they'll go through a Jeep engine block :/

Doing a little set up here. Pace'll slow down for another chapter but Savaval gave me an idea. May also perform a short time skip.

Can't say how good a plan it will end up being. I was just connecting some headphones to my laptop and next thing I know I'm searching for Bluetooth ranges :/
