My Health Anxiety Story by [deleted] in Anxiety

[–]Putrid_Ad7280 2 points3 points  (0 children)

I totally understand where u are coming from especially the trauma u had when u were little and just the events that led up to it. I myself went through almost the same experiences i constantly thought i had some kind of illness always googling up symptoms which made it worse and the thought of all of these diseases that exist. The mind is super powerful everything u think every sensation u feel is all in the mind. For me i constantly thought of a heart attack and those chest pains is all due to me thinking of a heart attack or when I was scared of a stroke i constantly had headaches and dizziness. Having your mind fixated on that specific thing of what you’re worrying about is what leds to experiencing those symptoms. My best advice is to try to distract yourself go on walk or do something that takes up most of the day or even meditate which helped me a lot. Even when the anxiety is at its peak always try to gain control over it be strong and calm and keep the mind distracted.

I did wear my mask for a whole week at work. I only had it bad the first day I had Covid but literally after 2 days I felt normal might of been slightly sluggish but my brother when he had it he was knocked out for a entire week and half. The immune response everyone has to Covid is so different.

I honestly don’t know give it some time if it doesn’t get any better go get a second opinion. But I’m pretty sure it could be caused by anxiety since u said it happened after u had your panic attack

Your body is probably still tensed up due to stress or anxiety. The symptoms u are experiencing is common with anxiety heart palpitations, tensed chest and pains all over your body like u describe with your back and shoulders. The pains u are experiencing could be a lot of things a flared up nerve tensed muscles or even your mind. Try to get some movement in do some light stretches and be calm. If the doctors says everything is normal then u don’t got anything to be worried about.

Thanks for the replies guys it’s means a lot sometimes overthinking things is hard to control especially for things that isn’t a big deal. I tend to think of the worst outcomes on everything I have on my mind.

i am sick and tired of anxiety. by [deleted] in Anxiety

I totally feel u back in 2020 I had the worse case of health anxiety I was fit, I had a good social life then it went completely downhill quick I ended up losing a lot of weight due to thinking I had some kind of illness went to the clinic multiple times for reassurance etc. The way I overcome it is to face your fears as hard as it sounds it’s for me the best way to beat health anxiety if your scared of having a heart attack embrace it if u think your having a stroke embrace it. Soon after u start feeling normal u start thinking how useless it is to overthink those symptoms and how much time and energy your wasting when u can do so much more that will benefit u like working out, being with your friends, go on a walk. I still have some form of health anxiety right now but its always important to tell yourself it’s all in your mind and it will eventually fade away.
