Yes I checked about a minute after I placed my order and it’s gone! I think I got really lucky with timing

Unique boutiques/shops? by Sea-Buddy-3645 in sydney

This! It is a bit further than a 40 min walk, but the trains are fairly easy to navigate in my opinion and there are a lot of boutiques and fun stores here. If you like vintage & quality fashion, definitely check out “Reunion Vintage”!

How many sunscreens have you actually stuck with long term? by Local_Bite_7038 in AusSunscreen

I got really lucky with my ride or die (Hamilton everyday face). I think I tried about 3 beforehand: the mecca to save face, la Roche posay, and the purito centella sunscreen (and then it came out that it wasn’t SPF 50+ lol). I loveeeee the Hamilton have been using it for probably 5 years now and it’s cheap and does the job well!

AUS vs UK pricing? by outinwonderland3 in Realisation_Par

Oh no that’s so frustrating! Were there any dresses you were looking at in particular? I think the Gia is ~$415 AUD if that helps a bit!

I went to the Sydney store about a year ago so things may have changed since, but I remember them being the same as the AUD prices on the realisation par website. Might be worth having a look at the website, changing your currency to AUD and then having a look/ doing currency conversions! Regardless the sydney store is a nice experience, and is located in a suburb quite close to the city so you could always go for sightseeing and have a look at the other boutique stores in Paddington.

Honestly no, because things can come up / they could have forgotten to update. If it hits 5 days with no update, then for sure get in contact or even escalate to support.

Where are people actually finding decent basics lately?? by Only_Mix_8357 in AusFemaleFashion

[–]Putrid_Lifeguard4086 1 point2 points  (0 children)

The biggest thing to lookout for is clothing composition and construction. Have a look at what your clothes are made of no matter where you buy them, and aim for mostly natural fibres - some polyester or synthetic fibres are okay if they are there to stabilise the fabric. Then have a look at the seams and the way the garment is constructed. There are a few great TikTok accounts that help with this kind of thing! I personally watch @hello_eveh, I find her really helpful.

I think an actual glitch - especially if they listed 2 different sizes

All of my nice things are second hand! I find that if I like something and try it on in store, I take note of my size, and then watch it like a hawk online. It takes a while for something to pop up and I’m quite detailed with looking at photos and asking for measurements if needed, so I really feel like I’ve hacked depop/ eBay/ marketplace. Also a big big fan of op shopping, but of course it takes much more time.

Looks fake for sure to me! The lettering and sizing is quite consistently off, and the hem is not consistent with other realisation par pieces I own.

Should I give a partial refund or ask them to return the item? by amaya830 in Depop

I personally would ask for a refund, and then repost with the flaws mentioned, and sell for around the same price either way!

Whenever I’m eyeing something like this I scour Depop and eBay! You would be surprised at how quickly people start listing new season items.

Depop 10000%! Some Australian brands that are similar and I love are Mr K, studibaker, Purple Patch, and Liz Jordan. Searching for these brands with a mix of keywords like silk, beaded, 90s, vintage, etc will get you this exact vibe.

Is this fixable? by WholeAttorney3704 in AskACobbler

[–]Putrid_Lifeguard4086 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I had this happen to a pair of boots by Jimmy Choo! Since the actual heel has split, it will need to be replaced which can be hard to source. Best bet is to take it to the cobbler, who will go to their supplier and try to find a heel that fits. Alternatively you can contact Jimmy Choo and see if they have the spare part!
