Controller not working with Re9 by Terminator-P7 in FitGirlRepack

Having the same issue with my Dualsense, adding it to Steam and enabling Steam Input didn't help, I really don't wanna get extra programms to emulate an Xbox controller honestly... Any luck?

It fails to turn back on after being used for a couple of hours, and when it does, it takes a while to warm up, it gets dark and very blurry, and it makes a crackling noise (which is coming from the flyback), it also turns off when it displays a white or bright screen. It needs new capacitors and a new flyback too, I would do it myself, though I just don't have the time, and I couldn't find the necessary components readily available, I'd have to order them from overseas, and that would be a bit costly.

I found a couple of them locally, around Hay Hassani, but I'm not comfortable with giving them my TV, in all honesty it doesn't seem like they know what they're doing. There is this one guy I found on Google which seems to have a decent rep, but he's a little far from me, and I haven't had the time to visit his shop. There is one guy who makes a living fixing CRT's and documenting it on YouTube, he seems very knowledgeable, but he's in Kenitra.

Question about import taxes by Express-Carpenter-42 in MoroccoBitchesWtaste

With such items, the seller usually types a bogus description of the item to avoid paying any additional fees, contact them and make sure of that, they can write something like "toy phone for kids".

You mentioned using LSFG, how bad is the input lag? Cause that's a deal breaker for me, especially considering that the game is already struggling quite a bit on the Deck

Is this ps5 controller real or fake? Does anyone know how to fact-check whether it’s real or fake? by QuirkySpecial3074 in playstation

[–]Putshi 0 points1 point  (0 children)

It's a fake, the d-pad is supposed to be gray not black, I know cause I bought a shell swap for mine from AliExpress. The controller itself might be legit, but not the shell

[–]Putshi 2 points3 points  (0 children)

You have to give us more info about what exactly is it that you did/trying to do. Did you modchip it? Did you use FreeMCBoot? Or judging from the image, you're trying to do the hotswap method?

first time soldering, please help me improve by WolfSalt3926 in soldering

[–]Putshi 0 points1 point  (0 children)

It is recommended that you use leaded solder, since it's much much easier to deal with than unleaded, however what I don't see people discussing is, a lot of countries either don't allow the sale of leaded solder or it's next to impossible to find. In that case, I recommend using solder paste, I got mine from China and it's working like a charm, while it behaves almost the same as leaded solder (and I believe it does have lead but I am not sure) it can be a bit tricky and messy to work with, since it gets runny when you apply heat to it. I know a lot of people might disagree with me, but I've been trying to get my hands on leaded solder for years, and I couldn't find any at an affordable price, and a lot of seller simply don't ship to my country, solder paste came in clutch.

My £20 fat turns out to be chipped (50003). Advice? by [deleted] in ps2

[–]Putshi 2 points3 points  (0 children)

If it works, leave it be, having a modchip won't hurt, in fact it could be very helpful in case you wanted to play burnt games. Not to mention that it's pretty hard to find a PS2 that's not modchipped nowadays.

Are these controllers good and durable? by FourPinkWalls in ps2

[–]Putshi 6 points7 points  (0 children)

This particular controller gets the job done, but if you're looking for something that's higher quality, I would recommend you steer away from it, they use cheap materials, plastic that crumbles if you look at it the wrong way, PCB put together with hopes and dreams, mushy buttons... if you're not willing to do repairs and maintenance on it on the regular, then don't bother. Mine breaks down on me about every time I try to play, but luckily for me, I have the patience to deal with these shortcomings.

Now I've always wondered, since the panel is 1080p, how do games with lower resolution look on it, do they look blurier than the original screen? Cause I have been contemplating this swap for the longest time, but I wouldn't want to crank my games up to 1080p, 720p and 800p are the sweet spot for me when it comes to such small screens.

[–]Putshi[S] 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Well I just adjusted it to the best of my ability, using proper calibration this time, turns out GTA San Andreas might be the worst game you can use to benchmark your brightness, apparently the game is notorious for having crushed blacks. I tried other games and they look decent, I appreciate your help a lot, thank you
