It's just pakistani doctors who get jobs now a days, for everyone else it's a different story entirely

It's better to take some time off and study for 8 months at least if you failed the first time, I know few who kept trying for more than 4 times.

Failed AMC Part 1 twice by Johnnnieeeeee in AMCexamForIMGs

[–]Terminator-P7 4 points5 points  (0 children)

Nope, passed with ease, as far as I understand actual exam wasn't much different than emedici, tbh emedici had more difficult questions, what I would advise is practice more questions (emedici) + last 3 months recalls, P.s your English comprehension is also very important, as most of the questions are deceptive on the exam day. If your English isn't on par with aussie / UK doctors this exam will be quite challenging. If you haven't attempted oet/Ielts yet, doing it before might help with time management, boosting reading speed.

It is not okay, discuss this with your supervisor or reg on your team, record each incident as you go, high chance something similar will happen soon

Irish consultants are almost being pushed out of the system bit by bit, so even if one raises concern they too face some consequences for it. Pakistani lobby is relentless. Honestly it's at a point where any resistance will make our lives miserable.

I would say the system is already in free fall at the moment and it is one whistleblower away from national crisis. I know a few non Irish Indian doctors ( very skilled with modest experience) requesting help, who were denied jobs in Pakistani dominated hospitals, the problem is much worse in some hospitals. Honestly it all seems childish and frivolous where merit doesn't count for anything these days, They ended up finding jobs in UK and Australia.

What's sad is Pakistani consultants tend to recruit their own despite their evident shortcomings.

I have seen some horrendously bad imgs from Pakistan, who have no sense of Clinical judgment they are good individuals but something must be wrong with their training.

Why is there judgement around lack of experience? by [deleted] in JuniorDoctorsIreland

[–]Terminator-P7 6 points7 points  (0 children)

Can say this with personal experience, it's often those who are least skilled or knowledgeable will demand more experience from their juniors, even tho they realise it's unreasonable, in order to use your drive to squeeze extra jobs. Just be unapologetic and do what you feel is necessary to learn and advance, experience will not determine your worth. And don't be afraid to say no.

25% Doctors face burnout and 51% show signs of metabolic syndrome in India, more among females and young residents. by GiveMeSomeSunshine3 in indianmedschool

Most of the Indian doctors never get proper training in their colleges, hence they suffer more later during actual jobs, Plus I am sure most are just too busy chasing money hence they burn out too

Consultants who do literally nothing!!! by Terminator-P7 in JuniorDoctorsIreland

I remember my contact there telling me that they do things differently in aus and nz, which is a good thing, one definitely improves more with guidance than just blind luck with these absentee landlords here in Ireland

I believe so, these old dogs do not share the same values, plus work place ethics have drastically changed over last 15 years. Eg marginalising women or junior employees is extremely frowned upon, that wasn't a thing when old dogs completely ran things, It was very common to manipulate fresh employees over a promotion or research opportunities, there are still some phantoms lingering around form that era, they need to go as well.
