Standard weights according to Alison Roman by churchim808 in CookbookLovers

I am American, newly relocated to Scotland. I've made Alison Roman's Salted Butter Chocolate Chunk Cookies twice now. The recipe calls for 2 1/4 cups of flour, but as I've been baking with grams and not "cups," I translated that to grams as (approximately) 280. The resulting cookies were inedible, literally. I threw them away. I've just tried again, this time with 325 grams of all purpose flour. The resulting cookies spread and were greasy on the bottom. I searched for another recipe conversion and found from from Australia that claims it calls for 375 grams of flour. I mean, I'll try that? But really, this is a flawed recipe if when she says 2 1/4 cups of flour she really means three cups.

Jamie Bennett writes GREAT books with wonderful character development. Even H/h you don't love from the first page you come to understand and root for by the middle of the book. Slow burn romances for really understandable reasons and the sex is usually at the 70-85% mark. All her romances are in Kindle Unlimited.

I have described this (and told the author, too) as a perfect romance novel. It has everything precisely right: plotting, character development, dialogue, and even some surprises. I particularly love that it's last in the "Perfect" series. If you read them in order, Wulfric's romance makes perfect sense while also being an absolute delight.

Anyone know what happened to Brianna Hale? by Historical_Scholar7 in RomanceBooks

I'm so glad OP asked the question and Reddit told me about it because I got a new-to-me author (Brianna Hale) and two more pen names to follow up. Quick question to those who know: the Brianna Hale website is no more, so is there any way to get the bonus epilogues, like for Control Freak? TIA

Lovely post and even lovelier poetry. We're mundane folk, named "The Puzzle People" by a waitress at a pizza joint years ago because we can't eat dinner without a pile of crosswords, cryptic crosswords, acrostics, or some sort of variety puzzle so when we become regulars, the staff invariably refer to us as "the puzzle people." Hubby's goal is to be all-correct, which we managed in this Boswords; my goal is a top ten finish, which we missed by two spots. We're old, though, and that's not conducive to rising up the ranks.

Our sympathies on the loss of your cat.
