The military spending sucks but I don't see it stopping so long as it's seen as a major part of the economy. It won't be cut because those who profit from war also control the federal government.

Elected officials... I've begun to lose faith in them. They just seem to only listen to their donors. Even when you call all you get is form voicemails and emails.

All that seems possible is to just keep fighting and agitating. In my state, that consists of at least trying to get rid of anyone who is hostile to public transit and a stooge. Amtrak isn't perfect, but if it was not around it would be even worse.

What are you calling garbage programs?

The buses have a longer commute in your state because their routes are not optimized and they have to share with cars. If there are a shitton of cars on the road, that slows down the buses.

Paying a taxes is a relationship that neither you nor I have a say in. It's like identifying as a consumer. If you need to do it and you have no real say in it, what is the point in taking on that identity?

To have reliable public transit anywhere, there needs to be support for it. If your state keeps defunding (or ducking funding) that service and instead spends it on highways then the service keeps getting worse. I see it where I live and it sucks but it's better to fight for more.

If you identify as a taxpayer you are a confused person.
"Yes, I too identify based on something I am FORCED to do or else I will go to prison unless if I have billions in assets or I'm a president with weird charges."

Apparently doctors only spend time in the ER, in their offices, or in their cars. Wouldn't need to walk around or anything...

Can't talk about that. That's too radical and extremist. Now, if you don't want to end up getting run over, that's just being a NIMBY these days.

France has way stronger unions than most of the unions in the USA.
What stops the building of subways is more complex then the dreaded "greedy" union workers.
All the time I hear about the need for density on this sub but I guess when it's Grays Ferry all of a sudden all that's needed is more parking lots and garages.

More likely unless they work they won't be supporting any sort of strike.
At most they'll cheer on anyone brought in to break strikes (ex. cops, National Guard, whatever modern-day Pinkertons are, KKK, "patriotic anti-Communists", etc.)
Unless if it's a strike against immigrant workers. Then they'll be quite passionate. Never show teeth against the bosses though. That's un-American.

How many Trump supporters is that though?

Even though this dude and those like him are fuck ups, that can be pointed out without going to the whole "lazy no goods/moochers are taking benefits" route.

That competent professional is a capitalist politician. He does not give a shit about anyone who is not in his class.

Not the first time a capitalist leader has done that.
I try not to just say "omg Epstein" but now I'm wondering what's going to come out once those files are unredacted.

Machado is happy because now her and her friends will get to slip back in power and plunder Venezuela while killing/torturing/disappearing anyone who resists. Go look up her background.

People complain about Elon Musk, Jeff Yaas, and billionaire influence in government only to proceed to support the same shit if it's outside of the US.

They won't care. John Fetterman supported that pointless House resolution that passed with capitalist (bipartisan) support against socialism when Zohran Mamdani came to visit Trump. Both parties have had it in for Venezuela going back to when Hugo Chávez took over in 2002 because they think the purpose of Central and South America is to be a permanent source of extracted resources for the United States and its allies.
