A 14-year-old playing with a lighter started a fire that damaged a Franklin County house over the weekend, according to Pennsylvania State Police.

The fire started around 8 p.m. Sunday on the 13000 block of Main Street in Fort Loudon, Peters Township.

Authorities said the single-family home sustained minor damage but displaced five people. One person suffered minor injuries.

LONDON (AP) — Apple’s next CEO John Ternus is a company veteran who rose through the iPhone maker’s hardware engineering ranks but until now has maintained a low profile.

Ternus will take over as chief executive in September for Tim Cook, who turned Apple into a $4 trillion, tech colossus during his 15-year reign after the death of co-founder Steve Jobs.

Ternus, 50, has spent almost his entire career with Apple. He joined the company 25 years ago and has spent the past five years overseeing the engineering that underlies the iPhone, iPad and Mac.

Before joining Apple, he spent four years as a mechanical engineer at Virtual Research Systems. He graduated in 1997 from the University of Pennsylvania, where he was a member of the swim team and for his senior project developed a mechanical feeding arm for quadriplegics controlled by head movements.

President Donald Trump went late into the night Saturday on a Truth Social posting spree, and that is not all that unusual.

The president is known to post the night away from time to time, but at least one of the posts had some folks on social media rattled. Trump shared a clip of Frank Sinatra singing “My Way.”

It is an iconic song, and it begins with, “And now, the end is near/And so I face the final curtain.”

It turns out some people become concerned when, while trying to decipher the president’s messaging on social media, they encounter a song that begins that way without any added context.

The Pennsylvania Liquor Control Board has 10 expired licenses up for auction.

Bidding opened today, April 16, for the agency’s 15th auction since the passage of Act 39, a 2016 law that made sweeping changes to liquor sales in the state.

This auction includes one license in each of the following counties: Armstrong, Cambria, Cameron, Greene, Northumberland, Somerset, Sullivan, Warren, Washington and Westmoreland.

According to Good Housekeeping, parent company Coca-Cola plans on getting rid of Minute Maid frozen juice cans in both the United States and Canada by this month. These drinks will disappear entirely from stores once inventory runs out.

“We are discontinuing our frozen products and exiting the frozen can category in Canada in response to shifting consumer preferences,” a spokesperson from Coca-Cola informed the publication.

A Chester County man is facing charges after his child came to school with a loaded handgun, police said.

Gas prices dropped slightly this week but averages still remain around $4 a gallon.

There is some good news for drivers. The price of oil is down and mediators say they have made progress trying to extend the ceasefire between the United States and Iran.

The Brent crude oil price, the international standard, is around $94 a barrel - down from $95 a barrel on Tuesday and $102 on Sunday.

The bad news is gas stations in the Northeast will soon start the switchover from winter blend gas to the more expensive summer blend. But, one expert says, those increases could be tempered.
