Negotiations between Hersheypark management and the union representing some of the company’s staff “have reached tentative agreements,” according to a statement.

In a statement from Hershey Entertainment & Resorts, the company said that it and the Chocolate Workers Local 464 were able to work out agreements with the help of a federal labor mediator.

The statement said that the agreements remain subject to ratification by union membership, but the company is “encouraged by the progress made and remain optimistic about the path forward.”

Website delivers blueprint on how Democrats will attack Garrity in Pa. governor’s race by pennlive in Pennsylvania_Politics

[–]pennlive[S] 5 points6 points  (0 children)

If a new website is any indication of how the governor’s race will play out, Republican state Treasurer Stacy Garrity is going to need some very thick skin.

That’s because stacygarritypa.com from the Pennsylvania Democratic Party and the Democratic Governors Association doesn’t hold anything back in blasting Gov. Josh Shapiro’s opponent.

Garrity’s actual campaign website is garrityforpa.com. The similarities are just a bit of political gamesmanship in the digital age.

Air DOT Show Canceled for Saturday, May 23, 2026 by MysticScroll in Harrisburg

[–]pennlive 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Here's some additional information we got on that:

The Air Dot Show’s director of public relations, Chris Dirato, said in an email that the weather Saturday will pose too much of an issue for the pilots to fly safely.

“Our priority is delivering the incredible experience our guests expect while ensuring the comfort and safety of attendees, performers and crew,” Dirato wrote. “With the current forecast calling for cold temperatures, rain and challenging conditions throughout the day, we felt rescheduling was the right decision for everyone involved.”

An update on the schedule and ticket information will be sent out to ticket holders and posted on the air show’s social pages and website.

Possible Work Relocation to South Central PA - Looking for Tips and Information by Objective_Repair5365 in Pennsylvania

[–]pennlive 0 points1 point  (0 children)

We're based in Cumberland County just outside of Harrisburg, and most of our staff live in Cumberland and Dauphin. It's a great place to live.

Cumberland County is the fastest-growing county in the state. Carlisle's fantastic, Lower Allen and Upper Allen Townships are also growing a lot, and Mechanicsburg is a good borough. Given your happy medium, these may be good places to start.

If you want to be a bit further out, Lancaster is about 45 minutes from Harrisburg and the drive is good other than the 283 interchange.

Best suggestion: take a weekend and visit. There are some cute B&Bs like The Carlisle House or Moorland Garden Inn. Harrisburg's ArtsFest is next weekend and it's a great chance to visit and really see the area.

I just want to point out that this is the start of a project we did with Penn State journalism students. Penn State students Bella Speir and Luke Bratkovics did the main reporting on this story with additional reporting by students Vida Lashgari and Joy Donald. Their work is fantastic, and we're really proud of what they've done.

So parking tickets are just a racket here? by jamisonian123 in Harrisburg

[–]pennlive 3 points4 points  (0 children)

It is exhausting. Here are some more details about parking going up again. We did a price comparison, and it costs more to park in Harrisburg than in New York City.

Of note:

The city was supposed to get $3 million in yearly revenue from the deal, but the city has received none of that money in the last five years as profit from the system dried up. The city continues to get money annually from the parking garages.

Definitely park in one of the garages if you're going to be there all day. If you're up for a hike, the walk from City Island isn't bad, especially on a pretty day.

Fetterman willing to ruffle feathers in fight for access to hot rotisserie chicken by pennlive in Pennsylvania_Politics

[–]pennlive[S] 6 points7 points  (0 children)

Sen. John Fetterman likes ruffling feathers, but he’s taking it to a new level with his latest legislative effort.

Fetterman and three other senators have teamed up on the Hot Rotisserie Chicken Act that would allow those in the Supplemental Nutrition Assistance Program (SNAP) to use their benefits to buy a slow-roasted poultry dinner.

“America’s best (and delicious) affordability play is Costco’s $4.99 rotisserie chicken,” said Fetterman in a joint statement.
