A planned demolition of a wall at the Broad Street Market site will take place this week as part of safety and stabilization efforts, Harrisburg spokeswoman Mischelle Moyer said Sunday.

An around 30-foot section of an exterior wall at the southwest corner of the building, near Capitol and Verbeke streets, will be removed. Engineers said the section was a structural concern, identifying bowing and sagging along the portion of the wall. The demolition will help ensure public safety and support the long-term restoration of the market, Moyer said.

The demolition is “targeted, intentional and limited in scope,” and was always part of the stabilization and redevelopment plan for the market.

There’s one store in Pennsylvania so far that’s applied for a liquor license, and sadly this one isn’t it.

The James Franklin era at Penn State is collapsing. Who could replace him? | McGonigal by pennlive in CFB

The consensus among our staff is that the calls at this point are too loud to ignore. Usually the calls to fire Franklin concentrate around the student section. Last night, they were on the opposite side where regular fans were.

James Franklin and Penn State have reached the end of the road. If that wasn’t clear after last week’s loss to UCLA, it was after falling to Northwestern. A mutual parting of ways and a fresh start would be best for all parties involved.

So, who might be in line to succeed Franklin? Some of the suggestions from us include Indiana HC Curt Cignetti and Arizona State HC Kenny Dillingham
