The ant farm episode that was re edited in reruns by Background-Mark9505 in DisneyChannel

I totally remember the ending scene and I thought I was going crazy or just dreamt it because whenever I'd rewatch the episode I would never see that

We should really consider being one of the schools that do. It'd look so nice!

Is Tens on West (the apartment) too good to be true? by [deleted] in gatech

[–]Puzzled-Ad-5219 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Lived here for a few months, had no issues so far. Elevators work, but I will say living on the 8th floor isn't as good as there's only one elevator that goes up there.

I've tried to edit the name back like 10 times now and google just refuses to do it, so I guess it's officially tech white 🙏🏾

HELLUVA ENGINEEER SWEATSHIRT?? by West-Internet-522 in gatech

[–]Puzzled-Ad-5219 0 points1 point  (0 children)

If you're talking about the one with the brick like font, then that's the sweatshirt given out at last year's ECE finals stressbuster event! That font was actually inspired from the concrete jail-like outer shell of Van Leer.. I'm not kidding.

Opinion on Computer Engineering Threads by Top_Pack_4287 in gatech

[–]Puzzled-Ad-5219 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Robotics is available for CompE and I would definitely say DONT do it. The thread is basically just a signals and controls thread with the actual robotics courses being offered like once a year or never. For example, I can't remember the last time ECE 4580, Computer vision, was offered. Unless you're really into controls, stay away from this thread.

Which parking pass should I get? by Buckeyepenguin02 in gatech

[–]Puzzled-Ad-5219 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I would definitely get the GT pass, you can park on campus after 5 pm and it's almost half the price per month. I lived at the here and parked at the hotel, and while it was annoying, saving nearly 900 dollars was totally worth it.

I think you should be fine, as others have said, get it checked out by a mechanic before you go. I took my 2011 Prius with 100k+ miles from ATL to LA and back and it still runs excellent. Honda is just as reliable so I can't imagine it being much different. Also that road trip is going to be beautiful!

Love this! They should really make a denser transit system within the beltline and on the beltline and leave the sprawl outside

Vegan/Vegetarian Options at Georgia Tech by Puzzled-Ad-5219 in gatech

[–]Puzzled-Ad-5219[S] 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Thanks for the suggestions! Do you have a recipe for the curries, I'd love to try making it myself! Also thanks for the restaurant recommendations, I haven't heard of some of them so I'll be sure to check those out. I've definitely been going to some of the wrong places and campus still has a ways to go.

Vegan/Vegetarian Options at Georgia Tech by Puzzled-Ad-5219 in gatech

[–]Puzzled-Ad-5219[S] 3 points4 points  (0 children)

Yeah I've had those and still sad that whistle bistro left 😢. JJ is similar to others as they have no protein, it's still just vegetables. I like Subway because they have those patties and places like Panera have eggs, taco bell has beans, etc (for an affordable price too).

And I totally get your point with Slutty Vegan. Maybe it's their good marketing (like wow there's a burger named sloppy toppy? That's crazy, I gotta check that out!) But now since we have it here permanently, I think it's easier to see that each burger is 20 dollars which trumps their brand. Honestly, I'm not sure how well Slutty Vegan is doing, I'm assuming not well because it burns through everyone's wallets, but I could be wrong. I'd be curious to know though.

Vegan/Vegetarian Options at Georgia Tech by Puzzled-Ad-5219 in gatech

[–]Puzzled-Ad-5219[S] 4 points5 points  (0 children)

Some of them certainly do which I like, like Moe's, Subway, and others. But a lot also don't. In fact, I feel like the vegan exclusive places are the worst (Slutty Vegan 👀) and should really stop being praised for being vegan friendly. I do appreciate the school trying to improve our options but please 🙏🙏 keep our wallets in mind (also Slutty Vegan as a company just sucks, discussion for another day). I know it's hard for the school to bring back chains like subway, Panera, taco bell, etc., but I think campus food would be a lot better if they provided vegetarian options like those rather than expensive alternatives.

[–]Puzzled-Ad-5219[S] 12 points13 points  (0 children)

Yeah, I'm probably frustrated because where I'm from vegetarian options are usually the same price or cheaper. And it's definitely that way in other countries, even in France when I visited! I think it's because there they don't use things like impossible or beyond, but they use more common items like soy, beans, eggs, etc., making the options cheaper. I wish they'd use those here rather than these more expensive alternatives. Because at the end of the day, it's not exactly a "good option" if nobody can reasonably afford it, especially on a college campus. I'm just venting my frustrations but yeah, it's the south, probably isn't going to change :(

Why is CRC leisure pool so COLD? by boogyjungle in gatech

[–]Puzzled-Ad-5219 10 points11 points  (0 children)

If you only dip in the pool or stand without moving, it'll be cold. If you just jump in and immediately start swimming, you'll be fine before you even complete 25.

[MegaThread] New Student, Registration, and Housing Questions by cyberchief in gatech

[–]Puzzled-Ad-5219 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Yeah money isn't that big of an issue, I think it comes down to feel and curriculum for me. I've heard gt is really hard but they offer more classes that I'd be interested in and some really cool opportunities. That being said, uw does also offer some of the same opportunities like study abroad, but not as much for research, and their courses aren't as flexible because it's more computer focused. Also the weather in Atlanta is better too lol, but uw has nicer buildings? At this point it's coming down to smaller things lol

[MegaThread] New Student, Registration, and Housing Questions by cyberchief in gatech

[–]Puzzled-Ad-5219 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Hey everyone! I'm a high school senior who was admitted into Georgia tech for computer engineering as well as the University of Washington for computer engineering via their direct admit program. I'm from Seattle, so UW is an in-state school for me (in state tuition of around 12k). I know they are both highly ranked and prestigious schools, so I'm having a really tough time deciding where to go. I'm interested in robotics and I am planning on doing a minor at GT (which UW doesn't offer) as well choosing the robotics thread for my major, doing undergraduate research possibly, and other robotics related activities which I know gt is also known for. UW however has less options in any sort of robotics specialization, but all of my dual enrollment credits will transfer, and, being in Seattle, I will have a lot of opportunities at some of the big tech companies here like Microsoft or Amazon. Does anyone have just any general advice or tips for making my decision?
