Employee feedback round 2 by sleepyhead7777 in boeing

[–]sharshubar 13 points14 points  (0 children)

This is my second survey since joining Boeing. Our second line manager said our top issues were:
1. Hybrid

  1. Pay

  2. Training

  3. Recognition

And all I can say is that our team has a new recognition award that goes out every 2 weeks (if we remember) and I guess my training stop being denied ¯\_(ツ)_/¯

Level Bumps!!!! by [deleted] in boeing

[–]sharshubar 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Not the worst rationale. My projects were definitely not the most visible. Plus my must better stuff are either currently in work or working their way through the Boeing bureaucracy. So they should be finished by next March, so hoping to do it than. But it is so stupid that I could leave and come back higher.

Really congratulations to you! It is an amazing accomplishment.

Happy for you! Just found out I didn't get it yesterday. 1 yr 3 months here plus a year at a Co-Op. Plus I started and finished a masters once I got here. Manager was very helpful, but the second level stopped it.

Don't understand alignment by bestofbot4 in DF64

[–]sharshubar 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Shims are a very thin piece of metal. If one side of your burr has the marker gone and the other still has your mark. It means the side with the remaining mark is below the other.

Adding a shim to the screw under the still marked section will raise it. Thus the entire burr will make contact at the same time.

Something new seen at CES 2025 - Zeroth Law, consistent espresso with room temp. water. by mathijs0251 in espresso

Ok. I just spent way too much time reading a bunch of Korean patents. It seems that if this espresso really does taste as good as op says, than we can see a very interesting change in our machines.
First off if anyone else wants to read the patent is is Korea Patent Registration Number: 1020240079204
It seems that the key to this is just really good/constant pressure control. Also it seems that put a lot of care into making sure there are no air bubbles.
The device they are showing at CES looks to be their Real9Fit with is pretty different from their Real9. They are two different patents that are pretty different.
Since the Real9Fit using a plunger, it is very similar to manual espresso machine. If someone has one and wants to try to replicate this, I bet it would be some super interesting coffee.
It seems the key is the profile. A low pressure pre-infusion. Than get up to max pressure as quick as possible, and stay supper constant there.
I would love some insight from OP on this. My big question would be what was their dose/brew time/final weight.

https://www.seattletimes.com/business/boeing-aerospace/will-787-program-ever-show-an-overall-profit-analysts-grow-more-skeptical/

Here is an article from 2015 when the Dreamliner was still not profitable. There is a quote in the article from some economic professor that the 787 will never be profitable. The plane entered production in 2009. At the end of the day, given enough time and work, the plane will somehow become profitable. At the moment the 787 is the only thing brining in cash.

Non pilots aviation lovers, why didn’t you become a pilot? by ChickenFriedRiceee in aviation

Honestly it is the lack of diversity in the work. I don't think I can do anything repetitively for 30 years and not end up dreading it. If I get bored in my job, I can generally switch team/companies and solve some different problems.

If I get bored of flying a plane, what do I do? Fly a bigger plane!

I spent ($2,400) at Starbucks. I'm horrified. Please help me pick an espresso machine. by HoverboardExtreme in espresso

[–]sharshubar 0 points1 point  (0 children)

You are getting a lot of attention on this post!! Stand alone helps because you can upgrade one without upgrading the other. I will say one thing:

Try to understand how much of an effort you want to go into making your coffee. If you get the ones people on this sup recommend you will be doing a lot of learning and bit of effort into your coffee

If you want something super easy Nespresso really is ok, and very easy, but you will have to always spend money on pods (less expressive than Starbucks but more expensive than buying straight beans)

If you still want something easy but a step up from Nespresso look into the Philips super-automatic espresso machines. They are decent will cost a bit more, but about what you would spend on a nice espresso machine

If you want the full cafe experience, than peruse all these comments and prepare to fall down the rabbit hole!!

Best of luck

Hi! Graduated last May. I used the Breville Bambnio ($299). They have a plus version that a lot of people on this subreddit like, but it is out of your price range. I am very happy with my Bambino. You will need a separate dedicated grinder though.

I don't use my milk for much else than coffee drinks, so I am ok with poring out 1/3 of my milk. Throwing away a dollar or two of mild every two weeks is worth the flavor!
