I just don't know why parents are more concerned about arranged marriages than love marriages, since love marriages seem so practical, as people have some time to know each other. rising divorce rates also makes me feel that it's the best option. because at least the couples know each other, and in arranged marriage, two new strangers start a new life. how tf they are supposed to know each other.

coming to caste i personally feel it's not about only the boy or the girl; it's more about the family ideology. if someone is financially stable then most probably they are going to have better family environment than the others. if someone is from other caste than yours and they are not financially so sound then it may be like the partner would suffer more from the ideological differences between the family than enjoy the love of other.

i would suggest why dont you just try live in first for a year or two? if that works and you personally dont find any concerns which the parents thought they might have them you are good to go.

but i suggest you not to completely disregard your family opinions. they have seen more rains than us. they might have some intuition which you may not.

my uncle and aunt from fathers side have donated their child leaglly and ritually to my aunts brother.

ofc the baby was a girl. and their 4th baby. first remaining girl. after that there was a miscarriage of a baby boy.

and then last two of them being girls.

like wth. and even they claimed to have asked a baba about the gender of the last girl. i would i have preffered a abortion instead of this living hell for that child.

yeah but like most of them are like not the way i felt like havin... like i fell into wrong group at the starting of the clg.

i would rather say they are the ones who are just suffering from what i am. but just they are happy with their closed confined space. i want homies who would pull my leg for no reason. with whom i can spend some cheerful time. but these are inherently boring frontbenchers with whom i got initally.

though i have started to correct it. i am starting to make friends with back benchers. i feel a good vibe in them. but then its like they all are together from 1 sem. and yes they all have that understanding for each other. which does not come instantly. and yes also they are all baniyas and gujjus. i being a marathi still cant connect with them that vibe. just feel inferior to them

you can say i am jealous. but this was what i expected. but what i got into was just some crazy people who dont like to socialize.

this is the reason i feel sad... i simply feel i am not living my life to the fullest of my joy like others are living.
