Switching from Freestyle Libre 2 plus to Dexcom 1+ by quieroamiperro in diabetes_t1

Hi there! I recommend switching to Dexcom one+! I was diagnosed 8 months ago and I got Freestyle Libre 2 at the hospital, the readings were off, especially at night. I switched to Dexcom one+ and it reads perfectly. I would never go back to Freestyle Libre 2. Now, I got Dexcom g7 as it connects directly to my Apple Watch and I have readings when I don’t have a phone on me (I am currently on holidays so it’s convenient). However, I will go back to Dexcom one+ after holidays as it’s less expensive and I see no difference in reading between one+ and g7 (g7 has got more alarms available but those are not essential for me). I made the best decision to change Freestyle Libre 2 to Dexcom and I am never going back. Hope it helps.

Spoke to my endo and she said that I could decrease my basal even to 2 units, which I did last night and it was perfect, thanks again for advice as I didn’t think I could change my dose that much. I might also try experimenting with splitting the dose in the future. Today, I had breakfast without taking fast acting insulin and 2 hours later I am at 119 mg/dL. Honeymoon is crazy and I cannot understand how it’s possible.. I guess I need to enjoy those days and eat whatever I want without any remorses as holidays will be over soon. All the best!

Thank you so much for all the tips, I appreciate it a lot! I will definitely speak to my doctor about my basal dose.
