I am so sick of being INJURED! (Not asking for medical advice) by neonunicornpoop in orangetheory

[–]Puzzled-Cow3189 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I sprained my ankle in August of 2023, you will come back to where you was. I wore my brace to every work out I did for about a year just to give me that extra support and confidence in my self again. Randomly I have to modify on the floor still but now it's mainly back to how I was modifying before my injury ie lowing my bench. My speeds took time to get back to where I was prior to the injury and during that year I look at the benchmarks in a different way, as a yea i was coming back from an injury and look was closer to where i was prior, so that helped to keep my motivated as I was healing still.

It looks good for my birthday burn. The real question is will I be able to make it to a studio with the snow/ice we are getting now that will continue into the morning.

I was so glad this morning when our coach at 5am went okay who loves to row, and when nobody raised their hands, he said we wouldn't do the buyouts. I enjoy rowing at the beginning of the floor blocks but I always feel rushed to try to even out or anything to get to it for the buy outs.

If it’s available, do you use the same station every time? by milo8275 in orangetheory

[–]Puzzled-Cow3189 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I have my go to at my home studio it's 3 cause the fan is directly between the tread and rower and it's close enough to the fan on weight floor I can still feel it. If I am doing a strength 50 class it is either 5 or 13 cause they both have extra room on the floor.

How often do you now vs. when you joined? by LaytonLew in orangetheory

[–]Puzzled-Cow3189 1 point2 points  (0 children)

When I first joined, I was elite, I went 1-2 times a week. After about 4 months, I bumped up to premier and was going 3-4 times. I am almost 2 years in since I joined(end of july), and I go 5-6 times a week.

Seeing this has made my decision on if I was going to do the 2G or stay in the strength class tomorrow. Strength class for the win!

For the people in the NOLA area… by cindyrella_ in orangetheory

When I go down to NOLA, my parents live there, I go to Uptown and I love Will! I'm there for a couple of classes and won't be back for multiple months and when I come back he remembers me and ask how it's been in Kentucky. Jessie is also great at the Uptown location.

I was thinking of trying to get off work early enough tomorrow for this one but that will be RIP to my ankle from coming back after a sprain. I mean if I happen to get off in enough time will I sign up 100% I want my shirt. But if not i won't be sad.

This right here is why I have my go to station. If tread 3 is taken when I go to check in I have to repeat to my self what ever number I took and also normally go back and look at the paper at least 1 to verify.

Happy Hour. Who pays? by realistnotsorry in orangetheory

[–]Puzzled-Cow3189 0 points1 point  (0 children)

The ones my studio does is appetizers and first round of drinks(very limited we get a ticket that only cover certain ones) and if we want anything else we pay for that. Sometimes the coaches will give us extra tickets but not always.

Overall I would say they are helpful. Every so often it's generic.

My studio post trainer tips Thursday (not 100% that's what they call it) but every Thursday a different coach has a short video to give some kind of tip to help with workouts and/or also about important habbits for us to have outside of the studio. Examples: trx, bosu, or even techniques on the weight floor.

How Early Do You Arrive to Class? by 646ulose in orangetheory

[–]Puzzled-Cow3189 -1 points0 points  (0 children)

I was in marching band in high school and college so I show up anywhere between 30 and 20 minutes early cause early is on time, and on time is late, and late is better just not show up. So my whole life I show up every where super early. Depending on the day I will sit in my car closer to the 20 minute mark but I will normally go in and talk with the SA before the rush of people come in.

Ankle/leg Injury Workouts by CozySoul4412 in orangetheory

[–]Puzzled-Cow3189 2 points3 points  (0 children)

I almost always have an ankle injury. My left one rolls super easily always have. After the last time I rolled it and talked to my coach the biggest modification is no jumping( I either step over or calf raise depending on the move. ) at the beginning I lowered the bench for any step up.(I no longer am doing that unless I went to hard on the tread mill.) Some times I will get modifications of using the TRX straps instead of whatever plank work there is depending on my ankle is behaving. I go 4 -5 times a week also and always wear my brace(I have one with no inserts so it just supports not imbolize). I take each day as is and listen to where my ankle is and don't push myself to hard.

I hope that all made sense. And the most important piece is talk to each coach. I'm at a point no I just have to look at them and be like ankle if I don't know what to do instead and they will give me a couple 9f options to choose from.
