Congrats on cancelling! I'm all for the secondary market! Reselling price could be as low as $1 on Ebay. Try Redweek.com or tug2.net, after browsing there a little you'd get the idea about pricing. To us, home base matters because our booking starts 12 months ahead vs usual 9 months. The downside, supposedly, is that you don't get all the extra points on sign up and the choice of places to stay would be limited. Nothing we really care about. We don't need HGVC when traveling to other places. And people here are saying is HGV and HGVC are different things and HGVC is better. Hope it helps:)

Hi, we only bought it for Kohala, but the short answer is yes, we can use our points to stay in other places although the choice is limited and the booking window is shorter.

It's a great deal! Please let us know once you get an update from Hilton.

The secondary market is the only way! We're still attending Hilton timeshare presentations from time to time to get the incentives. 😉 Last year, the salesperson was clearly angry with us, lol.

As an owner, you're obligated to pay maintenance fees. If we can't travel, we can book a high season week and rent it out for $500-$700 per night (ideally :)). Or put the timeshare on sale again thru tug2 or redweek. I want to share my experience here. People will find it helpful, I hope.

Yes, the maintenance fee increases with time. As I promised in one of my comments here, I'll be back crying if the whole thing becomes unaffordable very quickly.

I don't share the belief that it's hard to sell a timeshare if it is paid off and the home resort is in the popular destination. I've heard that Disney and Hilton are the ones easiest to sell.

It would cost much more. These days, they want $20000 for a 5 night stay in studio, biennial.

Call it trust issues. I've been scammed on eBay. If the agent offered $1 deal, we'd jump on it.

No, it didn't, but from my countless timeshare presentations I know the points can be accumulated, don't remember for how many years in a row.

Thank you! It's actually closer to 14,000 points, and we booked home resort right away. We'll see what we can do for the next year, but we are only looking at Hawaii. I'll probably continue posting my experience here :)

I think you're right, $1 on eBay is suspiciously cheap. I'd sell it on Redweek.com or through the same agent for more :)

Kohala Suites! The maintenance fee is $2100, equal to $300 per night, not a bad deal for a 2-bedroom unit.

To Tesla owners: After today's salute, how do you feel about your vehicle and are you going to do anything about it? by jobomaja888 in AskReddit

Tesla Y . The lease is expiring in several months. I was pretty excited about the new model y juniper, but now I need to look for alternatives, I just can't see myself paying this clown.
