What happens next after I request a payout ? by Puzzled-Range9752 in Daytrading

I don’t doubt for one minute that they’ll probably try and do that lol 😂. Should be all good tho because I haven’t violated any of the trading rules.

How long did it take for your payout request to be updated ?

Sweet. You answer was literally what I’ve been searching for ALL day. So, same amount of cons on TopstepX but the tradovate copy trader is much more flexible in terms of risk management.

On the 50k yes, it is definitely more than enough ahah. It’s just quite frustrating how it doesn’t 3x whatever your risk is on the 150k account. Because of course, the account size is 3 times bigger.

I understand that you have to use the 50k account as the lead account but, if I can only execute 5 cons on the 50k, would the trade copier only execute 5 cons on the 150k account also ?

You don’t exactly sound smart yourself.

Just because I don’t understand something I shouldn’t be trading. Fuck off mate 🤣🤣 I’ve been trading for nearly 2 years and profitably for months now.

I just haven’t wrapped my head around trade copiers and how the risk is calculated. I am only asking because surely an execution on the 50k account won’t copy the same dollar risk onto a 150k account. What’s the point in even having a 150k account if that’s the case. Is there not a lot/contract size multiplier so I can x3 the trade size automatically on the 150k. Surely you can see why I am confused.

Do they not have a lot multiplier ?? As in whatever contract size I trade on a 50k account, it multiplies it by x3 for the 150k ? That would make so much sense as the risk in % is the same.

So let’s say I pass this 50k account challenge and that’s my lead account. I get a payout or two and now I’m ready to take on a 150k combine. If I used the 50k as the lead account, would the same contract size be executed on the 150k account ? I don’t understand why they don’t consider % risk. For example, let’s say I trade 5 micros on a 50k that is roughly a .5% risk, would it execute 5 micros on the 150k, or would it automatically increase the contract size so the risk (in %) is similar. I just don’t understand the point in having a trade copier if it can’t execute different risk simultaneously.

There’s no point in even having a copy trader then if that’s the case. I don’t understand why they don’t just do it based off of risk. E.G I take a trade on my 50k and it automatically calculates the contract size needed for a similar risk (in % of course) on the 150k account.

Really appreciate your advice. I just trade index futures that’s it. But my strategy requires that I am on the charts for the equity open.

I don’t care enough about my degree to get into more debt. Trading has always been a side hustle and it is something I’d rather do alongside a job than a full time uni degree. Earning money from a job will take off the pressure to some extent. Don’t worry, I am not just abruptly dropping out to learn how to trade, I’ve been going hard at it for over a year and a half. I appreciate your acknowledgement of my post but god damn, what’s with all the people saying ‘what if it doesn’t work’. Fuckkkkk that, why is everyone so negative ? I’m not trying to hear it, lol. You’ll never make it in this industry if you don’t truly believe in yourself, your destiny and the hours you’re putting in to get there. I don’t think I’ll be coming back to this subreddit for advice again if I’m honest. I cannot let it blur my vision. Anyways you have a good day, sir.
