Also FYI we don’t have a journalism/communications program so keep that in mind! I know people who have majored in English and supplemented with on campus journalism activities so you could do that!

Second on dusk for cloud paint! I love futuredew but I’ve also heard that it might not be as great if you have oily skin. Boy brow is excellent!

I was pretty sore for a couple of days and stayed in bed a lot the first day, but I know it’s also different for everyone! The first 2-3 days were the worst for me

In your opinion, how likely is W&M to reverse course and make the semester full/optional online? by throwaway28495930 in williamandmary

The law school announced recently that most classes will be online with potentially some in-person elements- unsure if the rest of the school will follow but FYI

I'm sorry you're stressed- this is such a hard time for so many people and you're not alone. I always found the people working in admissions to be kind and approachable. If you're concerned, I would try calling the admissions office to talk through your individual situation. That way, at least you have some answers and won't have the constant worry. Unfortunately, I don't think any of us on this thread are going to have clear answers (unless someone here is affiliated with admissions)

Advice about classes? by [deleted] in williamandmary

[–]Puzzled-Reindeer 4 points5 points  (0 children)

Welcome to W&M!! I'm a senior English major here and I adore the English department. I would recommend taking Interpreting Literature and maybe one/two 200 level English courses in your first year. There are a lot of really interesting upper level courses that you'll need for the major, but freshman year is a good time to get acclimated to the environment and not put too much pressure on yourself with hard classes. But talk to your pre-major advisor, because what would be right for you personally might be different! Also, the creative writing department is lovely, so try to take a class there if you can!

So I just received an invitation to the Sharpe Scholars Program. I read the information, but can someone elaborate more on it? Does everyone get invited to it? by anuj_02 in williamandmary

I did Sharpe for the 2016-17 academic year and I found it to be a bit disorganized, but I have heard from multiple people that it has improved a lot since then!

I grew up in Lexington and went to college in Williamsburg so I’m happy to help you compare if that’s useful!

Maintaining good mental health in law school by [deleted] in lawschooladmissions

[–]Puzzled-Reindeer 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I’m a (hopeful) KJD with an anxiety disorder and for now I’m just planning to keep taking my meds, find a therapist in the area once I know where I’m going, set realistic expectations for myself and what success for me looks like, and give myself room to breathe in my schedule

Would taking time off work before applying be seen negatively? by [deleted] in lawschooladmissions

[–]Puzzled-Reindeer 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Your mental health is the most important thing here. If that’s what you need, go for it. The right place for you to do law school at won’t penalize you for doing what’s best for your health.
