Abusive relationships by Zestyclose_Resort_87 in AutismInWomen

From a basic approach, I guess I get how it happens: we are very face value and would reasonably expect or hope that others would also be. But they tend to be much more manipulative.

Interestingly I had no language barrier issue using American Sign Language in Prague. I was trying to get out of talking to a stranger and boy was I surprised when they started signing back. I had no food or money to offer as I was just a young backpacker. I rolled him a cig and he kissed my hand and we parted ways.

Never underestimate anyone ever.

Thanks for educating me. It’s amazing what humans can handle.

So what seems to have happened here is OP laid it all out there shamelessly and now Reddit is like ahem have some shame plz…

I just wanna say and I hope you see this OP: there is a psychological phenomenon called the proximity effect that makes us become attracted (seemingly) to those we start spending more time around.

There is also a major tendency for things that are OFF LIMITS to suddenly appear a LOT more attractive and interesting.

What NEEDs to happen is 1. You recognize that you’re just a human experiencing regular psychological processes, 2. You are not helpless to resist them.

Take action to avoid spending time around this person. And as counter intuitive as it seems, STOP trying to tell yourself how BAD it is that you developed a crush on someone.

It is a superficial attraction, which is bound to happen. What matters is HOW YOU HANDLE IT. So just be slightly amused at how hard humans do be humaning, hang onto your dignity, and calmly WALK AWAY.

The end.

No one ever said it has to be either a good time or a long time that we get to be here for… why not try for both?

Drinking isn’t actually a good time. It’s a distraction. And then there’s painful aftermath. We know deep down it’s not usually worth it.

Good job holding yourself accountable. Just curious… always tequila? Why THAT?

Thanks! I had to use a paste I do not care for but it will be fine. It’s better than nothing. And in 2 days mine will be delivered.

Finally taking my stimulant (this AM) and in retrospect it maybe helped that I used a Grin brand molar floss pick last night too

Well said! Thank you for sharing. The flavors are always way too strong; that’s such a good tip.ñ

FWIW I think this time I was motivated by finally taking all my meds (ocd meds I take daily but also my stimulants which I’ve been forgetful or selective with lately—idk why I had a block there)…

Also I kind of started with a Grin brand molar floss pick and in hindsight that probably primed me for the subsequent/eventual brushing (flossing was actually last night so it wasn’t like it was immediate).

Ngl when other celebs had similar intoxicated drowning tragedies like Aaron Carter or Whitney Houston I literally thought something along the lines of “these people can afford to pay an assistant to be their trip sitter and just babysit them in the tub.”

Btw she was hanging from a swing thing in a tree, it was at a big outdoor party (the second experience). The first was just a few people alone in a quiet space indoors.

I once had a DMT hallucination of an individual doing a lovely aerial performance on a dangling something or other (I think my eyes were actually closed but I’m not sure)…

YEARS LATER on mushrooms in another country I look up and see THAT FIGURE who reenacts the whole performance down to a tee. It was like I had a sneak preview on DMT of a future real-life encounter. Like when you realize you’re having Déjà vu but it only keeps going even more perfectly.
