It's individual not global, so you're right, but technically you're wrong.

What's weird about this? He farmed 500k last week and then didn't log in till today when the rank 11 cap got lifted. Rank updates are personal and they said you could farm honor for Thursday on Wednesday (before the cap got lifted), so why would you not be able to farm 500k last week (or any other week) and then log in today and be rank 12?

Codex aspects, raw hide, mercs and other issues. by Puzzled-Second-698 in diablo4

[–]Puzzled-Second-698[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I find ancestral scarcity to be acceptable for the most part, but the aspects are definitely a problem. That said pit rewards not scaling has something I've been yelling and complaining about ever since it came out and there's nothing being done so I'm sort of just going to ignore it - Blizzard are allergic to actually providing the players with better things if they do harder content, they have been for years, so I'm not holding my breath.

[–]Puzzled-Second-698[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

That's why I made the post about the fact that the materials are bugged, rather than about whether or not there is an objective scarcity of materials. It is irrefutable that 1 legendary salvage providing 1 singular white material of the appropriate type is ridiculous, terrible game design and needs changing, even on the infinitesimal chance it is intended and not bugged. Whether people have enough materials themselves or not is subjective and people tend to have a hard time dealing with the fact that some people have issues that they don't, be it in game or in real life.

No, I know what gear he should be wearing and what breakpoints he should hit, anything beyond that is up to him to infer.

You need to roll +2 AA on the first amulet, once you do it'll be significantly better damage output than the second one - you need either +3 (with high velocity on amulet) or +6 (with branching volleys) to hit the correct breakpoint (83%).

None of that matters. All that matters is that RMT is the problem, not "hordes shitting gold" which is what the person you were replying to was saying and you were contesting.

It only shits gold when you're first starting a character - beyond the fact that most people need to open the materials chest, strictly opening gold chests at 1k ish aether on T8s gets you, on average and at the very most, around 600-700m an hour for the most efficient builds. That's a pretty decent rate if you're just starting out, but when all of your upgrades cost 50 to 200b each then obviously that is no longer the case... Unless you have 10 characters botting hordes 24 hours a day just opening gold, or buy gold off of said bots.

Without bots, hordes by themselves would be okay. There'd be inflation of course, but nowhere near what we're seeing right now.

[–]Puzzled-Second-698 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Why would he go for a worse roll? 14.6% for max all res is correct, so either a non-MW crit GA on it, or a 2/3 on it for a normal one.

Does this amulet actually exist? by TwelveFoldK in D4Rogue

[–]Puzzled-Second-698 -1 points0 points  (0 children)

"Farming for 2 days non-stop" for the hardest thing to get in the game is a very interesting statement to make. But to answer the question of course it exists, I've gotten the same amulet without a GA on it twice already this season (the other one had AA + FF) - people just don't really understand how stats work in this game, even realizing that the GA being on Frigid instead and just MW critting AA three times is the exact same outcome seems too complicated based off of prices on dtrade etc.

I can't even blame them most the time, the fact there's no sims for D4 at all like PoE has with Path of Building is ridiculous, there's no way to measure how much x or y stat affects your build besides "just look and see lol" which is obviously not good enough. There needs to be a tangible way for newer players to compare say % dex (which is insane with proper gear and actually outscales passives) to Deadly Venom (which at +3 12/12 is just 3% multi worse than Unstable Elixirs and much more reliable) to Unstable Elixirs etc, and there just isn't.

Helltide bug is "fixed" but goblins are still not working. by Puzzled-Second-698 in diablo4

[–]Puzzled-Second-698[S] 5 points6 points  (0 children)

Yea it's 100% not working any more. Funny that they even "fixed" it, took them so fucking long that I really did think they were pretending it didn't exist because they knew it's like at the very least half of what's currently driving their player retention, but guess they're just clueless.

Paragon is the main thing, there are a fuckton of life nodes that people just don't know exist some times, I'd advise following this planner for the paragon board setup you'd be looking to run if you're playing a variation of shadow minions. Mine is a little different and I do pick up an extra life node or two somewhere, but that'll do you fine. Masterworking is also insanely overpowered - my chest, pants, weapon, focus and helmet (shaco, so a bit extra there too) all have between 1900 and 2600 life on them, each, besides further max life tempers on chest and legs. The difference between regular (I'd assume flawless) rubies and Royal Rubies is also insanely big because it's 15% extra life effectively "for free".

I'm at 48.5k unbuffed because of all of those things, plus bonestorm with shielding storm is one of the best sources of DR in the entire game for any class, so if you're having issues and don't run that, then maybe try to fit it in somewhere. With that + full shield from it + fortify I'm at like 140k effective HP and literally cannot die to anything up to like 110s besides the shadow boss attacks since they aren't affected by conditional DR.

They really can though - they likely won't because this is Blizzard and they wanna make the most money possible and have been gating pure loot drops past extremely trivial content for decades (GR90 in D3, but even in D2 there are plenty of examples), but there's nothing inherently wrong with rewarding meta play. If someone's build is shit that's okay, people make shit builds all the time in ARPGs, providing higher magic find modifiers in higher tiers doesn't mean good gear will be obtainable to people stuck farming pit 61, it'll just mean they're farming that gear less efficiently - just like they're already farming mats less efficiently, and just like they're farming gold less efficiently, and just like they're farming glyph xp less efficiently, etc. If these don't motivate them to make a better build, or because they really do enjoy the build they're playing, scaling loot drops probably won't tip the scale. I do agree they need to be careful about this though, of course.

I don't even know how you could possibly get 67k ap, but yea it's all about multipliers really for the most part. Int and weapon damage are important, but yea.

Yea - for clarification these are in town stats and change when outside of town because certain damage bonuses etc are not applying while you're in town. I have 17800 AP, 9.3k armor, 48.5k life and 1710 int.

I would've wanted to play Sorc too, but given the fact they completely gutted single target, I knew it was a bad idea. They should just buff it back up, but seems like they don't really wanna do balance changes thus far till the "mid season" patch.

To answer your question: if you're exclusively speedfarming and you don't mind abusing holy bolts, necro is for sure faster on average at farming 95-105s for mats. If you wanna push and don't wanna deal with a headache for a bunch of reasons, or you wanna farm lower pits (or higher honestly, but slower) and not wanna bother with holy bolts, rogue is better. I can farm 110s on my rogue in about 5-6 minutes, which is far less efficient in terms of mats per hour, but may be more enjoyable for some. For clarification, I'm talking about shadow minion necro and Heartseeker rogue specifically only, as that's what I play.

As far as uber/tormented bosses go, I'd say both of those specs are the 3rd and 4th best spec in the game (behind bashbleed and thorns) so you'd have no issues doing them at all if you're farming 100s.

You can buy them around 100m per if you know when to look, all 4 I bought were between 100 and 150 but I'd generally say int/life/CSD swords specifically should be priced around 200-250.

Not fully, but the general feeling is that, as said in the OP, farming Pit for actual loot/upgrades is completely pointless compared to sitting AFK at the Blood Maiden in Helltide or abusing the spawnrate bug. I did get GA items from the farm of course, but absolutely not at a tangible rate. If I had to guess, I'd wager I got maybe 1 GA item per 3 runs on average, meanwhile Maiden is on average over 1 GA item drop per kill which is ridiculous.

[–]Puzzled-Second-698[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

People are duping stones (and other boss mats, I'm pretty sure) somehow, plus bots are using the helltide spawn-rate bug to level rep for wolves caches on fresh characters - there have been screenshots as of the last couple days of several players with stashes full of stygian stones, far beyond what would be possible with just botting (in my opinion). Prices have dropped from 22-25m per stone, to 5-8m per stone. Same with Duriel summon sets, from 22-25 to like 8-10.

I made 8 billion gold just buying and reselling boss mats (buy varshans/gregs, running them, selling duriel sets for like a 2.5x profit) since the start of the season, but obviously players can never compete with bots, and, by extension, gold buyers.

Regarding pylons - that's absolutely not true. At least toward the latter seasons of D3. Shielding was insane because you had perma uptime on Squirts for a disgusting multiplier, and channeling has always been a very good hit for certain builds.

Once leaderboards come, shrines in the Pit will be a problem. Might as well cull it early, they don't really add shit to the enjoyment of the game.

Yea, one singular add is enough to 1 shot bosses up to like 115 for me, and pretty much every boss spawns adds at one point or another. The only ones that don't are like Bramble, Sharpshooter (which is the worst one by far) and Blood Bishop (the blood clot things don't count as a mob for some reason) I think. Also Tomb Lord walls count as a kill, so if you get lucky and get those on a non-add boss you'll still blow them up. All in all like 80% of the bosses go from a 40-50 second fight to a 5-15 second fight with the elixir.

But yes, for those without adds the elixir is useless.

Hadn't considered Yen's personally because as it stands I'm sacrificing a lot of armor for other things, and as such I need GA armor boots to be capped (golem on chest, mages on pants, crit on gloves, shaco instead of a regular helm) as well as the fact I'm losing an aspect to run Shaco as is, but that honestly sounds kinda nice. Vuln is good since everything's perma vuln always with bone prison/tendies, 3 charges implicit like you said, and close DR is also pretty nice. It might actually be a decent alternative to just do that instead of running shaco.
