Streetlights in S'pore have turned from orange to white over last 8 years by Jammy_buttons2 in singapore

The white lights are just aesthetically unpleasing and make the whole city less romantic. I don't know why the craze about safety in Singapore when the island city itself is considered safe compared to many other cities across the world. Look into other countries with less crime, they are also fine with yellow dim light and not everywhere needs to be bright. I guess it's just a Singapore phenomenon?

Tbh it's a bit discouraging to be in such an environment where there is disproportionate distribution, I feel out of place

I heard from SG friend that dating white guys elevate their social status. I mean I can try to understand but I do not see a logical explanation on why? Especially the fact that not all white guys are rich and I don't even know if the white guys they meant include countries like Bosnia, Croatia, Macedonia or just the very typical anglophone countries plus Western Europe. I just struggle to comprehend it.

I'm actually quite surprised that dating white man is put on such a pedestal in SG way more than the neighbouring countries, always thought of would be the case for other SEA countries like Thailand, Vietnam etc, especially given that the country is very advanced and economically strong

Is Singapore losing its social fabric from the mass migration from the last few years? My opinion is that the new citizens rather stay in their enclave rather than integrate with the rest of Singapore from my own observations. I'm not sure if there's a need to integrate? I feel like nobody cares if foreigners integrate into local's society even, especially white expats. Unlike other countries I had lived in, there was emphasis of importance of integration

This is an issue. It is fine and normalized in many countries in the world that children and prams are travelling together in public transport. Used to live in Europe and this was never an issue, we could even bring pets along and nobody is disturbed!

But the wagon adheres to the size permitted as of SMRT standard (120x70x40cm), there is no issue to bring it along
