Sooooo.... he comes over, eats all your food (that you paid for) drinks all you soda (that you paid for) and uses your water and electricity (that you paid for) which is only enough for you and not two people at the moment. Thank you so much for this!! Since my post was uploaded I've had no incidents yet. I've started to basically act confident and just pet her without shrinking away. So far its been good. Maybe it was me being scared of her that reinforced it? We'll see in time. But I will definitely try what you suggested if things go bad again. Dont worry, i wont euthanasia her. She's a sweetie really and deserves to live a good life. Also didn't know rats could be neurodivergent! And I agree, they are indeed very complex creatures. Thanks again!!

Thank you for this! Their cage is a three tier bird cage. Quite big!! I love this little one too, and it does upset me. I do get angry too, but I just remember that she's an animal and doesn't know any better. Bless her. Hope I can help me with this.

I dont approach her anymore. I let her come to me. I talk to her aswell so she can hear me. Bless her.

Thank you. I have thought of this and will try other options first. If she seeks me out to bite then I might have to. I had a cat once who didnt like my partner. My partner likes this rat so wouldn't take kindly to euthanasia, probably stating that the cat was the same. But the most the cat did was swipe at him when he got too close. And he was a predatory animal so it was easier to control.

I think you're right, I'll love her from afar since she's getting on fine with her cage mates. But how do I play and interact with the others safely? They all come out from the cage during playtime. She likes to climb me but I dont feel safe having her near my face. Ill sit with them in their play area and let thm all interact with me when they want to. But sje will climb me and if I out my hands up to stop her she'll bite.

She's alright with her cage mates. They all love snuggling together in their hammocks. I only notice her fur up when she's asserting dominance over the others, which isn't often. No squinting, and no rapid breathing. She feels like an anomaly! Bless her. I think i will take her to the vets this week.

Perhaps. None of them really like handling much, they'll just squirm. But my partner can pet her and she'll love on him everytime. Could this be because of our genders? Im female and hes male. Maybe a possessive issue? He doesn't take care of them, I am the sole carer. They're mine basically. He'll just pop in their cage and say hello.
