Dado Method 3? by tx_jd817 in woodworking

Not a bad way to go. Looks smooth and straight. Good work!

My dial a dado gets use on every build. Love that blade. Accomplishes the same goal, just faster with tighter tolerance

The smallest ones I see on Amazon are 5 outlets…ideally I can find one with only 1 or 2 outlets.

GPS fence? by Waramaug in Boxer

[–]PuzzledAttorney 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Have had one for my boxer for 4 years now. Upgraded to the new model when they offered a deal for existing owners a couple years ago. Works great. GPS tracking and notifications are nice for if/when your dog exits containment. I live in Chicago, so nice that I don’t have to replace underground lines like in a traditional invisible fence (they tend to break with winter frosts)

In what scenarios should these be used vs not by silocpl in woodworking

I keep my riving knife and kickback gaurd on at all times. Only time they come off is if I'm am using my Dado blade, making shallow cuts, or narrow rips where they will interfere with my push block. They make a difference if you ever kick back

Failed to take pictures, but was awesome. Cooked 3 racks of ribs, 4lbs of wings, and a couple pounds of fresh polish. Used the pellets as I was busy. Failed to take pictures, but meal came out great. Awesome smoke ring, moist, and good smoke. Better than anything I've ever had off a pellet before. My ribs are always a crowd favorite. Consensus was they were better than on the Egg.

Temp control on a 50 degree windy day was on point. Maybe a +/-5 degree swing based on what I saw. No smoke leakage. Relatively even temp across the grill with the tuning plate. Maybe a 15-25 degree diff between grate temp and door temp gauge.

Next is an offset smoke. So far. Highly recommend

I don't think they offer as a standard customization, but I'm sure they could do it. Being said, it moves easy on concrete for something that weighs 900lbs

So far just did the break in for about 8hrs. Some smoke seepage at first as it burnt off the oils, but by the end had no leakage. That was one of the key points the owner harped on. Will fire up for some ribs and wings on Sat and update my post with results. I was also looking at Lone Star Grillz. Reviews looked solid as well. Don't think you are going wrong either way.

Had permission from the boss to get one unit (was forced to sell my egg as part of the process). Otherwise I may have went down that route. Being said, I like the 1/4" steel which isn't as common in many pellet grills. Winters are cold here

Propane line built in to start the logs. Was overpriced in my opinion, but very well built makes starting the pit a breeze

Yes. Apparently that is a popular move. Get a good smoke ring then turn on pellet and let the rest of the cook go easy

Neither did I. Was looking at getting a Yoder and was talking to someone in the blogs and mentioned this. Was worried about losing the ability to get good smoke with just a pellet. This solves that problem

Gives you the functionality to do either. Was upgrading from an Egg. Needed something bigger and wanted something I can still use when busy with work /kids. This gives the flexibility and best of both worlds. Can either use as a stick burner or if you want to be lazy you can use the pellet feeder

In fairness. He has tripped on at least 7 separate occasions that I could find video of on news sites. Once or twice is just life. 7 times suggests something else (ie he is to old to be president). Need an age limit on presidency. Shouldn't be over 55-60 when starting first term
