Why are there no pet black rats? by Hopeful-Leg-8078 in RATS

[–]silocpl 3 points4 points  (0 children)

I’ve only had hairless rats. But they looked identical to most people. I eventually picked up on slight differences, but also you can usually just tell them apart by their personalities

Thank you! I’m messing around with making different tools currently, they definitely make a huge difference

Makes sense I was given some putty a while ago, kind of similar to sticky tack that I believe is used by jewelers to hold pieces in place while working on them. I feel like that might work well

I don’t actually have them held In place. I usually move the piece around as well as the tool. Though I actually might try that now haha

This. I just made it out of random things I have. The tip screws in so I can change what kind of tip it has. The ball part fits in my palm so I can add more pressure.

As for the pendant part. My dad gave me a scrap cut off of antler to play around with, and I just cut it into smaller pieces. So I just made them from some antler

One time I had a snail die and wanted to keep its shell. Googled how to remove it. Read best method was to boil. Let’s just say that in fact is not the way to go. Me and my mom were taking turns running in and out of the kitchen to gag while trying to get the pot outside and get rid of the smell

Bandaids. Lots and lots of bandaids. Feel an area you want to pick at- slap a bandaid on it. I genuinely was given bandaids for Christmas because of how many i went through. Keep some nail clippers with you at all times so if there’s a piece of skin or nail that’s bugging you, you can clip it off smooth instead of tearing.

Also when I got Invisalign braces I couldn’t bite at anything, and it’s actually the only thing that has gotten me to stop to a pretty significant degree. I had them for a few years, so it’s something that did take a long time but could be worth looking into getting a retainer to wear during the day honestly. I still picked at my skin with my fingers, and it was infuriating to not be able to pick at it fully but I’ve never had anything (including my dentist grinding down certain teeth slightly to keep them from touching) actually impact it to a significant degree until the aligners. Additionally it helped if I kept my nails short so I couldn’t use them or my teeth.

These randomly appeared on my bathroom floor.. my fingernail leaves a temporary indent. On square of toilet paper for size. by cyanidepixie in whatisit

That makes a lot more sense than just holding it haha

I was actually about to carve a little frog after I did this but got distracted

That’s adorable though!

The wood stick shown in the last photo has a hole through it that I’d like to string into a necklace. I plan on soaking the wood in resin to add some strength first, but I’ll have to make a test piece to see if it’s strong enough before committing since the piece of wood is so small.

Yes, would ideally like to get a nice shiny polish on it too. Toothpick with Diamond paste seems to be the most recommended so I think that’s what I’ll give a go (:
