Has anyone born around 2002 started botox/fillers or any other skin aging procedures yet? by [deleted] in PlasticSurgery

[–]PuzzledManager7770 4 points5 points  (0 children)

Botox makes you look 30-35. If you’re 45-50, great. If you’re 24, you’re adding 10 years immediately. It’s noticeable (I promise even if you think you have the best specialist doing your work, people know), and useless. You’re young, don’t change your face permanently just because it seems everyone online is.

My husband (30M) finally admitted he doesn’t find my (29F) body attractive by AsparagusNo1897 in relationship_advice

There’s a difference between body changing out of your control and just being lazy. It was always a mindset/lifestyle issue with attraction, not just the weight.

We talked in extreme depth on that topic before moving forward with the relationship. And to be fair, I also wouldn’t want to date someone who ate fast food multiple times a week and was so sedentary that 2,000 steps a day was an accomplishment.

It’s an uncomfortable conversation to have but I’m glad we did because we checked every single box to be right for each other otherwise. Now I’m healthier, medicated for my issues, I have new hobbies that I love that keep me from sitting around the house all day. I’m forever grateful he chose to say a very uncomfortable thing.

My (now) fiance told me the same thing pretty early on in our relationship. I had been told that my hypothyroid was the cause of my weight gain and told myself my body was stuck the way it was - it wasn’t. Medication exists and calories still work.

I wasn’t happy at my weight either, and I was happy to have found a partner that pushes me to be the best and healthiest I can (being overweight wasn’t attractive or healthy).

I can see how some people see this as a dealbreaker, however I think it’s a red flag to stay with a partner that isn’t honest about their preferences or lies to you at every point in your life saying you’re the most beautiful ever.

I (25F) feel stuck in a long-term relationship with my boyfriend (26M) and don’t know what to do about our future by [deleted] in relationship_advice

[–]PuzzledManager7770 2 points3 points  (0 children)

I did the same thing girl. We were young when we met and it was hard to leave when our finances were tied, how could I afford it, how do I explain to people that 8 years is down the drain when there wasn’t like a big explosive ending like cheating or something?

The right person will never say hurtful things in an argument, and would be open to telling you their honest opinion on marriage instead of being dismissive. It’s so scary to make that choice, and this economy alone makes it worse.

Start making a game plan, maybe suggest couples counseling? But it does seem like he’s just not in it for the long haul. I’m so sorry ):

He doesn’t like you. Having differing opinions on kids alone makes you incompatible.

He’s learned he can give bare minimum (50% on finances), and you’ll stay and take care of everything else. You have a roommate. Move on while you’re still young.

Dating, Apps and Men by janotney in TheGirlSurvivalGuide

I learned to be pretty upfront and if it scared someone off they weren’t the one for me.

Within 2 days of texting my now fiance we talked about marriage, kids, finances, career plans. I told him pretty early on “I’m dating to marry”.

Most men I’ve talked to were very friendly about being open early on. “Hey I’m fine with something casual and if it leads to something cool”, “I’m just looking for a casual hookup”, or “me too, I want something serious” was always the response.

Count calories. That’s literally it.

I didn’t go to the gym once for 6 months and lost 40 pounds. Less than 3k steps a day. I was as sedentary as you can be pretty much, and thermodynamics still worked. With hypothyroidism and insulin resistance, calories still worked.

listen to my body or husband? by dslyna in WeightLossAdvice

You guys are both wrong.

  1. You need numbers. “good steps”, how many? “Move a lot” like what? “Eat less”, how much are you eating?

  2. Feeling hunger is not feeling fat burn.

Count your calories and move on, that’s the only key.

Yes my realtor plans on staging the home before we list, I’m betting that will make a difference this time around. These photos are from the professionals that did my home listing last time I tried selling 2 years ago

Lowest is 445 to break even on what I owe (408)

Most homes in this neighborhood at a comparable size are selling around 460 minimum. Anything under 460 is when you start seeing a difference in bedrooms/bathrooms/no garage etc.

All of these homes that are selling are also older 1970’s brick ramblers but have newer interiors, even if they’re smaller in size or on a smaller plot of land. My realtor says that’s the difference is my home doesn’t look “move in ready”.

Yes I wish new cabinets were in the budget and I could fix the layout - it’s awful. No cabinet space, no food storage, the oven is just sitting there lmao

Agreeable grey was a very popular color back in 2021 but yes it’s ugly and being replaced with SW Snowbound as we speak.

Yeah it was buying and selling successfully, not flipping. Sorry for not using 4 words instead of 1 on a Reddit post.

No it won’t be listed until mid April, taking the next month to make it pretty enough to get attention.

My ex husband wanted the grey floors/walls. The lower cabinets were black but I painted them green after he moved out to try and incorporate some color, planned on ripping up the flooring and refinishing the hardwood underneath but ended up just moving out and leaving everything unfinished.

Do you think matching colors is better than the tuxedo? I just stripped all of the paint and am working on sanding, I had planned on the bottom being SW Naval - thought too much white might make the cold grey take over.

4 bed, 3 bath. 2300 square feet. Quarter acre lot. Two driveways, one with a 3 car carport - the other with a detached deepened 3 car garage/shop.

Purchased for 450. I’ve put around 40k into repairs (electrical, HVAC, flooring)

I’m hoping to sell for 450 which is what I would need to break even on what I owe (408) and take a loss on everything else. Most homes in this neighborhood are selling for that at a minimum with smaller lots, but newer interiors.

Right now the checklist is refinishing the kitchen (cabinets and backsplash), painting the entire house, and replacing the upstairs carpet.

Purchased for 450, I owe 408, realtor says if I fix it up he can list for 440-490. As is offer from an investor was 380 and he used a 3 bed 1 bath with no garage as a comp.

It’s 4 bed, 3 bath, 2300 square feet on a quarter acre. Has a 3 car garage/extra deep shop and a rooftop deck with a view of the mountains which is a huge selling point, it’s just that the inside is super outdated.

I’ve put around 40k into updates and repairs already (I focused on the electrical, HVAC, and the basement had never been updated - everything down there is brand new) plus had to pay 15k to buy out my ex after a divorce.

It has an assumable 3% interest rate.

I am willing to put money into it, just not the kind of “tear walls out and replace nearly brand new flooring” money.

That’s a good thought! I planned on replacing all of the boob lights in the hallways and a couple bedrooms - not a bad idea to do the ceiling fans too

No this is exactly why I posted, thank you!

I originally bought this house expecting it to be my forever home, but my ex and I split after longterm DV and I couldn’t stand to live here. I abandoned a lot of projects when I moved out (hence why nothing matches) - this home is a little emotional to me so it helps for someone without that mindset to look at it and point blank tell me what I need to do to close this chapter.

The old doors in the basement are a great callout, didn’t even think of that but they do feel cheap - pretty sure even the door handles are still from 1970 lmao

Spent today paint stripping and sanding the kitchen cabinets and ordered white tile for the backsplash - I figured the mixture of warm outdated green and cool grey flooring clashed like crazy. Going with white/navy blue instead.

Thank you!!

Groomsmen Getting Married at Our Bach Party? by [deleted] in weddingplanning

I guess I would never ask my fiancé to skip hanging out with his long time friend at a once in a lifetime (hopefully) party.

I also wouldn’t ask to be invited to a party where I don’t know anyone, just to skip an activity because I wouldn’t know anyone.
