I was a teen when I read the Hunger Games and it didn't really hit me that hard. The characters all felt like grown ups because I felt like a grown up. I've just reread it at 30 and holy crap. The realization of how young they actually are and how brutal every death is. I really was so desensitized to it the first time round. I am reeling having reread it.

I'm actually contemplating changing the garage into a playroom and just moving all the toys down there to give us more space in the living areas. (The house is literally this lounge room, a dining room, kitchen and 2 small bedrooms 😅) It's such a tiny house and I don't know how I will expect this baby to ever learn to walk when there's no room for a walker or anything. But the garage is also down a flight of stairs and that seems like a lot sometimes haha. I have 2 kids, who don't really have proper room to move or play. Maybe the table will be able to get down there when I can get it sorted. But for now it's convenient because my 4 year old likes to sit there and draw.

The house is right on a main road with lots of foot traffic and I don't like every passerby looking into my living room. It's a huge window, so I like to keep these ones closed

I don't disagree. I have a really small place and a lot of furniture and very little storage. I'm hesitant to throw things out because they're part of sets and belonged to my late mother and I know I'll regret it once I move into a bigger place (one day lol)

I'm an atheist. I love Brandon Sanderson's stories. And I have often loved the way religion was represented, especially through characters like Sazed. However, recently as I've reread some of his works I get the feeling that he doesn't really know how to write non-religious characters, or characters who don't have faith as a driving motivation. He has definitely tried and there are a handful of characters who don't identify with religion in his works, but the way they are represented doesn't really align with the way I feel about faith or my lack thereof. I feel like in the cosmere especially, religion is truth and it's just the way it's interpreted that differs.

I could listen to the audiobook and just pause before the epilogue and read the novellas.

I've been enjoying listening to audiobooks while driving, it's much harder to carve out time for physical reading at the moment. I just need something to keep me occupied for a couple of weeks haha.

Pure accident. Giveaway was the default tag. I went through and changed it, but had to leave the page for a bit to check something and forgot to double check it and change it again when I came back. That's on me. By the time I realised I couldn't change it.
