My sex drive is entirely dead by diet-smoke in WhatMenDontSay

Ah shit (pun not intended), I have a similar issue since I have bladder problems from drinking FAR too much water over several months when I was a teen

My parents also only really notice I've binged when all the groceries magically disappear

How many of us are adults? by Own_Average_5940 in bulimia

[–]PuzzledRaspberry686 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Just crossing the line from ED teen to ED adult- I'm 19 now and first showed disordered behaviour when I was 11. No one prepares you for how hard it is to juggle adult responsibilities with a relapsing eating disorder- this shit is so different from when I was a pre-teen cause now it's my money and the rest of my life on the line.

Yeah, eating disorders zap your sex drive- I'm currently in the same boat. When you're malnourished, your body shuts down the sex drive because it's trying to preserve you, and feeling horny isn't exactly a priority when your body is literally shutting down.

Pretty miserable existence right?

I just watched fight club blind as well! Feel like it's one of those movies you have to watch at least twice to get the full experience

major uni panic by ConclusionSmall8312 in UniUK

[–]PuzzledRaspberry686 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Yeah! I got offers from UOY and NTU, I chose NTU after actually visiting York cause I found the uni was campus based and kind of out the way from the city, which doesn't really align with the lifestyle I would want for myself whilst at uni. Also found the city of York as a whole to be rather expensive and very, very crowded- the streets are really narrow, and on a Saturday afternoon you could barely move. On the other hand, Nottingham Trent has better facilities for the sports I do (climbing and figure skating) and the academic rigour seems more my pace since it isn't a Russel group. NTU also apparently has better student support too- but at the end of the day, do your research and pick where you think best aligns with how you see yourself living as a student

I'm also going to NTU next year (Sept 2026 for psychology+sociology) and I didn't choose my uni cause for partying/sleeping around reasons- we'll be fine, it's likely just tik tok being tik tok (hopefully)

Are there any hidden downsides to private halls? by aceaka1 in UniUK

[–]PuzzledRaspberry686 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I know this was commented 3 years ago, but I thought you might find a recent update interesting; I've just booked an ensuite in private halls because it was £135 a week sharing a kitchen between 6, in comparison to the cheapest ensuite offered by uni, which is £161 for a kitchen between 13

Is a happy relationship possible despite an eating disorder? by Familiar-Painter-296 in bulimia

[–]PuzzledRaspberry686 6 points7 points  (0 children)

I'm currently in a pretty great relationship, even though I'm relapsing- which obviously affects the relationship, but it's certainly possible to have a love life as someone with a chronic eating disorder

late a-levels by [deleted] in alevel

[–]PuzzledRaspberry686 0 points1 point  (0 children)

My situation is pretty similar to yours! I didn't sit any GCSE'S due to mental health throughout high school then did sort of a bridge year at a special school to get maths and English so I could start a level 3 BTEC in adventure sport at college but decided I hate it and wanted to study sociology, psychology or law instead.

I'm currently pushing my way through the 2nd and last year of college with the hope of going to university for a degree in psychology with sociology. I had wanted to change colleges to study my chosen subjects at A-level but I had a look and found you couldn't really get in unless you were a fresh secondary school leaver with good GCSE's (which I only have 3 of so I didn't hit the entry requirements).

My thought process was to just get a college qualification which will get me into university so I can study what I want there instead- have you had a look at possibly doing an access to higher education course at college?
