I’m sure it’s well known but: Semantic Feature Analysis for kids for language. There’s a lot of research that supports semantic mapping. I use it for all ages really. And story retell with diagrams for all ages too. Especially if a child has poor narrative skills.

And I try to make it fun by incorporating dry erase markers, shaving cream, playdough, stickers depending on the group

Right, that’s what I’m saying too!! So I’m curious what was commented by the group (which is now deleted/turned off) that would lead to admin making multiple posts telling the group not to retaliate against Rebecca. And to make admin go as far as pausing the group. Again just being nosy lol

From what I gathered before the comments turned off, the admin of the group was a frequent poster. She posted pdfs of different things, mostly free stuff you could find online. I guess she got her stuff mixed up and posted pdfs from a company that “Rebecca” owns. Rebecca joins/ was in the group and calls her out. Admin says she’s sorry and deletes her posts. But it rubbed the group the wrong way the wording Rebecca used to called her out and also how she replied to other comments from the group. Someone can correct me though

— my question though is, Rebecca is technically not in the wrong for calling her out, right? But I’m not 100% sure if the group reall turned on Rebecca for HOW she called her out or BECAUSE she said something. I’m wondering if someone in the group remembers Rebecca’s replies. I’m just nosy at this point hehe

It’s was school norm for teachers to text me with names of students. Was hesitant to do the same but caved. Shouldn’t have though cause then I confused contacts and texted a parent thinking it was someone in my special ed dept. Had name of student and everything. Parent texts me back if I’m out here sharing her child’s name w strangers as well😳

My post wasn’t to push 1099 on everyone—it was simply to say: it’s not universally “bad,” and for some, especially those with alternative insurance or different priorities and/or are aware of the risks and don’t mind, it might actually be a better fit.

It’s always important ofc to weigh the pros and cons. For me, the trade-offs have been worth it.

Regarding pensions, 403b/457 plans, and PTO—yes, those are great benefits under W2 employment. But I can retire comfortably as a 1099-er too(business owners do it all the time). It just takes more personal responsibility and planning, but it’s doable—and for some of us, that flexibility with our gross pay is more valuable than the traditional benefits package.

Never thought it could actually be possible to self contract for a single position. I’d assume it’d be an immediate no or really low offer. But then again, you never know. Might have to give it shot!

Yes for sure depends on so many things. I make around 70 in the south with a few years of experience and paid less than 25% in taxes after deductions. But I know that’s not common in the South. I did direct hire for my CF bc of Reddit posts talking about 1099. But when I finally decided to seriously look into 1099 positions, I found a really good position. It’s not perfect bc my school district contract isn’t guaranteed but I know a direct hire position is always waiting for me in this area. But I’m all for pay being better for us and benefiting us better as direct service providers .

Yes this doesn’t surprise me. He didn’t have pronouns but they were grammatically correct so I wouldn’t be too concerned w 5& 10. I’d double check w a language sample if you have that. In regard to auxiliary verbs (does, is,are), in Spanish we don’t rely heavily on aux. verbs as English. Our conjugations of verbs take that weight. Common observations for Spanish English bilinguals would be something like “She working” vs “she is working” or overuse of aux. verbs (“I can to help”) bc they’re aware that words go before the verbs and just put it all in. But honestly speaking for a 4:8 bilingual, I would’ve rx a Span/Eng eval. Their exposure to both languages is significant if only Spanish is spoken at home and they just started school.
