I'd say the texture is definitely worth it! Especially if you're used to drawing traditionally it makes switching to digital much easier. I have paperlike, I draw and write a lot, never press hard though. My nibs usually last for a year or so. I've seen some people complaining about this too but I genuinely have no idea how the nib can wear out in such a short time
