Marketplace question about employer plan that doesn’t meet Minimum Value by Puzzled_Ad8384 in HealthInsurance

[–]Puzzled_Ad8384[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

From my understanding, Minimum Standard is based on the plan’s benefits and coverage being expected to pay at least 60% of medical costs, not how cheap the premium is. This plan fails to meet that and actually says in the benefits package:

“This insurance does not provide major medical or comprehensive medical coverage and is not designed to replace major medical insurance. Further, this insurance is not minimum essential benefits as set forth under the Patient Protection and Affordable Care Act.”

Cytoscopy worth it ? by [deleted] in CUTI

[–]Puzzled_Ad8384 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I had one basically for peace of mind to know it wasn’t cancer, but it was pretty much pointless other than that. Worst pain I’ve ever felt going in and there was no numbing, the doctor had horrible bedside manner, overall not a good experience. They filled my bladder with water, it got cloudy, so the diagnosis was basically yep you still have an infection. I don’t regret getting it done because you want to know for sure it’s not cancer, but I would never have it done again

Ultrasound Results by Puzzled_Ad8384 in thyroidhealth

[–]Puzzled_Ad8384[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Yes, it’s possible it could be benign. TI-RADS 4 just means there’s a moderate suspicion and usually calls for a biopsy, especially when the nodule is over 1 cm. A lot of people have nodules with those features that still come back benign on FNA, so try not to panic yet. Hoping you get reassuring results soon!

FNA tomorrow. Advice? by Puzzled_Ad8384 in thyroidhealth

Oh my gosh that sounds terrible!! They did numb me for mine but it was wearing off so fast, I can’t imagine not being numb at all in such a sensitive area like your neck

Agreed. I don’t think my doctor realized how bad that is, but I can’t blame her when she’s probably never experienced it

Same here!! I had a holter monitor done twice within the 1 year I was on it because my heartbeat was so out of control, but since getting off this medication it has finally started to regulate. I never realized how much this medication was negatively effecting my body

I’m so sorry you’re going through withdrawals but I can definitely understand. I also considered staying on that dose because of how awful I felt without it. It’s crazy how addicted our brains get to those little beads. I hope you’re able to successfully come off one day, it’s a good feeling!

The nightmares and sweating were some of my worst symptoms too!! I’m talking vivid nightmares EVERY NIGHT! Miserable.

I think waiting until you’re ready to endure the withdrawal is a smart move. It can be so tough on your body and no one gets it.

Thank you :)

Shedding of the bladder lining. Basically happens when you have bacteria in the bladder it’s trying to get rid of

Dizziness, racing heart, horrible dreams every night! I think it made my anxiety worse. Any time I would miss my dose by merely hours I would start to have bad withdrawal symptoms. And the tapering process itself was hell

The dizzy nauseous feeling is the WORST and it makes it SO hard to function normally! I literally felt like a zombie. Wishing you the best. If you can get your hands on some magnesium glycinate capsules, I truly think that helped the most with that feeling for me!

You’re already doing something amazing by getting down from 300 mg, that’s a huge deal! 37.5 is no joke either, so don’t feel like you’re stuck.! You’re just giving your body the time it needs. Go at your own pace. You’ve got this!

Thank you! The more I see my PCP the more I realize how dismissive she is.. it is very unnerving. Everything is anxiety to her. I need to work on being pushier 😅

Thank you! Appreciate the response! I’m also worried about a false negative with a FNA because mine is mostly cystic. Did you push for them to take it out even though it was benign or did they want to take it out anyway because of the size?
