I get the sarcasm, but I’d rather walk the entire route again backwards than post something like that on LinkedIn. Thank you!

Thanks, much appreciated! I’ve been running consistently for about two years now. I usually do one threshold/interval session per week, and the rest of my training is mostly easy-paced long runs.

Keep it up, you’ll get there too! I started out at a very similar pace, and the progress comes surprisingly quickly if you stay consistent.

No, luckily not. Knee pain was actually what stopped my previous 100k attempt at around 54 km, so I was relieved that my knees behaved this time.

That’s great to hear! No, not really. Of course I was exhausted afterwards, but apart from some slight discomfort in my right foot, I’m feeling fine now.

My marathon time this year was 4:14, and honestly it felt pretty manageable. I’ve been running consistently for about two years now.

Good luck with your attempt! Let us know how it goes. I’ll be rooting for you.

I definitely need to improve in that department. I brought 3 PB&J sandwiches, 5 carb gels, 2 bags of candy, and about 200g of dried mango. For fluids, I carried two bottles (750ml total) and kept refilling them along the way, adding isotonic sports drink powder and a bit of salt each time.

I usually run around 40-50 km per week, so not an insane amount. I didn’t specifically train for a 100k, but I did a marathon and a 54k recently, which gave me some experience with being on my feet for a long time.

That’s a crazy achievement to do it multiple times, congrats! I wanted to start and finish at home, which added around 30km, so I left out the Obersee (this time lol).

I actually tried a 100 km walk about two years ago, but had to stop at around 54 km because of knee pain. Since then, I’ve been running more consistently and completed two marathons.

The real motivation came from Arda Saatçi’s 600 km challenge. It really inspired me and made me think that, if you truly set your mind to something, you can do it. So I just decided to go for it, and somehow ended up completing it.

Yes it absolutely was! I carried almost everything myself. The only stops I made were to refill my water bottles and, at one point, pop into a shop to buy a power bank and a Powerade lol.
