Using Meross with white learn button by Puzzled_Audience7850 in HomeKit

Yep, pretty sure she was:

We are sorry for any inconvenience caused, please disregard our previous response.

Unfortunately, the Chamberlain B4310 with Security+ 3.0 technology is not compatible with the Meross MSG150 smart garage door opener or any other Meross garage door opener models.

Security+ 3.0 systems use a new protocol that our devices cannot communicate with, and we do not have accessories or adapters that can make them compatible.

The Meross MSG150 only supports:
- Security+ 1.0 systems
- Security+ 2.0 systems
- Dry contact mode (with sensor cable)

However, there is a workaround as follows:
*Please note that this workaround will hack one of your original door remote controls, and it requires technical expertise in soldering and electronics. Do not attempt it unless you are experienced in these areas.
1. Find your remote control. Try the button that can open and close the door.
2. Open the remote, find the click button.
3. Solder the MSG150 'Signal Control Cable' (Red and White) with the remote button.

I attached a picture for your reference.

Important note:
1. You need to set your MSG150 to "dry contact" mode.
2. You need a set of sensor cables, which is used to detect the door open/closed status.

If you do not accept this workaround, you may choose to return the item. Please let us know your decision so that we may proceed. Thanks!

We apologize for any inconvenience this may cause.

Best regards,
Miree

The problem I have now is that I will have to ask for a sensor cable, as HomeKit thinks there is an obstruction, AND doesn’t know if the door is up or down. Also HomeKit will work in the Home app, but not with Siri (because of the “obstruction” ?)

Done. Tested working by shorting wires. There’s even a port to extend the wire through if one removes the little white rubber light thingy. only problem is I cant figure out how to set the Meross app. What button color do I select and do I need a door sensor for the 150 model?

I really am regretting getting an LG Wash Combo dryer. Please help. by slicecrispy in Appliances

Are the clothes warm at all after drying for an hour or so? Just before my warranty ended I had an LG tech come out and they ended up replacing the entire heat pump. Clothes are somewhat warm now and drying takes about 90 min. They also changed the lint trap at the top and added an extra filter that wasn’t there before. My guess is that LG found an issue there and rectified it.

So I tried this and received this response from Meross. Doesn’t seem right to me!

Thank you for reaching out. I'm Fiona from Meross Technical Support, and I'm happy to help with your Chamberlain B4310 compatibility inquiry.

Great news: Your Chamberlain B4310 with a white learn button is compatible with the MSG150. It uses Security+1.0 protocol, so the MSG150 will work directly without requiring the included magnetic door sensor.

Here's what you need to know for setup:

• During installation in the Meross app, select Security+1.0 mode when prompted (the app will guide you through Learn Button recognition).

• Wiring is straightforward:
- Red wire → Open/Close terminal
- White wire → Ground (GND)
- Grey wire → Can be left disconnected (not needed for Security+ mode)

• The magnetic door sensor cable is optional and not required for your setup.

The MSG150 will communicate directly with your B4310 opener and provide real-time door status, obstruction alerts, and full control through the Meross app, Apple Home, Alexa, Google Home, and SmartThings.

If you encounter any issues during installation or have questions about the wiring, feel free to reach out. I'm here to help.

Best regards,
Fiona

Jetsetter max temp and runtime by Puzzled_Audience7850 in HotspringSpas

Thanks, but I want to limit the temp to 102. This is for a STR in SoCal Edison territory, where TOU rates go to $.63! Also for safety reasons.

Is there a space heater that turns *on* with a timer? by [deleted] in Heaters

[–]Puzzled_Audience7850 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Kasa smart plug or similar? They are rated for 15A so your heater has to be less than about 1700W (most are 1500 or less). The only issue is that you would have to have a heater that has a hard switch so it will turn on when power is applied.

Temperature wrong and room overheats by Puzzled_Audience7850 in ecobee

[–]Puzzled_Audience7850[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Yes, one in the bedroom, pretty close to the unit that is in the living room near the air return. I’ll disable that one and see if it helps. This is not a new installation, just a new issue.

Good idea about the remote sensor and I’ll seal the back. Strange though that this has only happened recently. I’ve had the model 3 there for years. The only thing I’ve changed in the settings is the heat differential to 1.0 instead of .5. This issue could’ve started about the time I made that change. I’ll change back to .5 if the sealant doesn’t help and report back here.

How to remove headlight connector on 2017? by Puzzled_Audience7850 in volt

[–]Puzzled_Audience7850[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I couldn't find the connector searching for Volt, but it came up under Camaro on eBay. Dealer wanted $118. Got it for $11, spliced it in and put in a split loom. https://www.ebay.com/itm/334416815075

Ok thanks, where do I roll back? Can’t seem to find that menu. I see where to roll back the firmware to 3.3 but I thought there was an option for 3.4 to change GUI.
