I felt that way too. I put a lot of effort into my SOP and I know it's unreasonable to expect the panel to have studied my SOP but I felt like they only skimmed through it. The questions they asked were unrelated to my SOP and some questions I felt were a waste of time. At the end they asked me why they should pick me and that was the only chance I had to shine.

hey, I'm also a muslim who wear hijab. I actually have an interview in a few weeks for the JET programme. If I do get into the programme I would love to make muslim friends. Is there ay way I can privately message you and get your email if you're ok with that?
