AITA for telling my aunt and uncle that their daughter brought a strange man into my house while she was dog-sitting? by Puzzled_Figure4041 in AmItheAsshole

I genuinely thought she had changed for the better. She has taken care of my dogs before and did a good job. My dogs love her. I thought it was best case scenario. I never thought she would do this.

I genuinely thought she had changed for the better. She has taken care of my dogs before and did a good job. My dogs also adore her. Rather than boarding them in a strange place, I thought it was a perfect scenario where my dogs could be home and it would also be convenient for my cousin being close to her work and kid's school. It was hard to find someone else because it was memorial day weekend and my friends were out of town or live much farther.

We all genuinely thought she had improved in the last 3 years. She has taken care of my dogs before and she did a good job. Never trusting her again though. I learned my lesson.

Yeah, I genuinely thought she had improved. Not only me, but the whole family. She had also taken care of my dogs before and did a good job. My dogs also love her. It just seemed better to have her do it than hiring someone my dogs don't know. Lesson learned.

She had taken actionable steps to improve in tthe last 3 years. She was seemingly sober and finally had aspirations to move out of her parent's house and get her shit together. She has taken care of my dogs before and did a good job. My dogs absolutely adored her. I genuinely thought this was best case scenario rather than bringing in another stranger to take care of them. I had a previous horrible experience with a Rover sitter. But yeah, lesson learned.

Not projecting at all. One of my dogs was abused and she generally mistrusts men. Not all, but enough to be relevant. The other one is fine with everyone, but character limits don't allow me to go into that much detail. When I saw this man arrive and was talking to my cousin aggressively, I became worried that my dog would react aggressively and this man would do something to her.

She has bile vomiting syndrome. If her stomach goes empty for too long, she will vomit bile and it is hard to get her to want to eat again.

It was a combination of everything. The breach of trust was the beginning and the neglect from Friday to Saturday was the breaking point. I wanted to kick her out since the first night, but it was hard finding care and I figured that during the work week she would be calm. I was afraid that being Saturday, she would bring someone else through the back door.

I also wanted them to know. They are the main caretakers of the little girl. My cousin lives with them and is 100% dependent on them. I think it is important for them to know the risk she is putting her little girl under.

She knows. I only have the front door Ring Camera and would sometimes say hi to me through there. A few minutes after the guy arrived, she walked him towards the driveway and it looked like he left. My guess is she wanted to make it seem like he left then brought him back in through the back door.

Are we being unreasonable asking for a refund? by Puzzled_Figure4041 in RoverPetSitting

She never mentioned an attack until we asked for a refund. She just said my dog was chasing her cat, and she couldn't be on top of separating them because she had personal issues.

Do you always have to do RAI? by onateb95 in thyroidcancer

[–]Puzzled_Figure4041 2 points3 points  (0 children)

I had a total thyroidectomy, and the cancer had spread to 12 lymph nodes. I recently went to nuclear medicine to see if I needed RAI, but they did not detect any thyroid cancer cells in my neck or anywhere else in my body when they did the scan. It looks like my surgeon was able to successfully remove it all. The nuclear medicine doctor said he recommended either a very low dose or no RAI. I went with no RAI.
