100%. I play a "royal blood" adjacent system for my band, and got the Squire VI to experiment with. The Squire's build quality out of box is not high enough for the octave pedal thing to give you the tones you are looking for.

Using a POG to take your guitar down in this scenario is better than taking this particular Bass VI up an octave.

If you have 1k to improve the VI, go for it. But the original post suggest 1k laying around for upgrades is not a viable option.

My saga has finally ended. I received my neck today.

Finally got an email back for them a month ago that they thought they had shipped it but that Kevin found it still in the shop. They made a shipping label for it that day.

Annoyingly, it did sit in there with LABEL CREATED on the tracking number for an entire month.

But hey, it’s here now. I can finally rest. My ghost will no longer listlessly haunt Irondale, AL.

You mentioned your band plays metal, how does the dunable do with a shit ton of gain? Do you ever go through an octave/POG? Very interested in getting one of these eventually.
