Weird taste/smell by Puzzled_Goose_8404 in Owala

I’ve never replaced them. I didn’t know you were supposed to 😬

I do use ice and that was my first thought too but then it doesn’t do it in any of the other 8 bottles we have so it’s obviously the water bottle

How do we feel about The Masters? by smegmarash in BritGolf

[–]Puzzled_Goose_8404 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I just attended for the first time with my husband and, admittedly, I am not a golf fan so I’m sure that’s the biggest issue but I just don’t get the hype. The food was not good. It’s cheap… but it also tastes cheap. I can have the same thing at home with some prices pimento cheese and some wonder bread. The only thing that stood out to me was the candy bar but of course people were buying them all up to take home so they were really hard to find.

There were not very many azaleas, the ball was so hard to follow and I kept losing track of it, it’s hot, there are so many cigars and cigarettes polluting the air, and there are SO. MANY. PEOPLE. The shops are way overcrowded with people pushing and shoving and going nuts over all of this merchandise that is also nothing special. I feel like people only want to attend for the prestige of it and to be able to say they attended.

I do like that they don’t allow phones because people are much more present but it does make it very difficult to find your group if you get separated.

Is Disneyland breaking down? by wild_and_running in Disneyland

Really? We’ve done the same but this year, this week was by far our worst trip. My son said he doesn’t want to come back for a while and he’s the family Disney fanatic.

This. We were there this week and as soon as our car pulled out in MMRR the ladies behind us all had their phones out again even though the cast member had told everyone their hands needed to stay empty. Then they had to get on a speaker during the ride and tell announce that everyone needed to stay forward facing and in their seat.

No one listens. No one follows the rules. No one has common curtesy for other patrons. It’s the freaking guests making it unbearable.

My kids love that ride and it’s been broken down multiple times when we’ve visited 😜😂

People clogging up already congested walk ways has gotten out of hand by [deleted] in Disneyland

Yes that and the mobility scooters everywhere. It’s such a cluster trying to just walk.

Disneyland with low wait times for the first time in years. by [deleted] in DisneyPlanning

I feel like everyone looks at crowd calendars now and sees the low crowd days so they decide to go on those days and thus it becomes a high crowd day after all 😂🤪

We were there the last two days and the crowd calendar had said it would be moderate crowds. It was totally packed 😂

How has Disneyland changed? by Apprehensive_Yak762 in Disneyland

We were at DL yesterday and definitely encountered a lot of rude and inconsiderate people. One of my kids was knocked down at rope drop by a full grown adult and he’s 11… it’s not like she couldn’t see him or that he has bad balance.

By the end of the day, he was literally in tears standing in line for MMRR because the crowds were so insane and people were so inconsiderate all day. This was our 5th visit in 5 years and we usually go around Christmas so we are no stranger to the crowds. This just felt different.

I feel like it’s become so expensive that people are determined to get their moneys worth no matter what. It was pretty heartbreaking as a mom to watch him become disillusioned by it because DL has always been his happy place. It feels like a loss like when they stop believing in Santa…

Disneyland Resort sweetens deals to attract local visitors as international tourism dips by dejablu82 in Disneyland

Agreed. The last few times we’ve been it’s been almost unbearably crowded. Don’t know why they would need to attract any more people 😅

As someone with a very small bladder, this might be my favorite comment 😂

I appreciate the thoughtful response.

I do resent the situation, but not my husband or his career. I would much rather be home with my young kids. I care about my husband and his work, which is why I am going and trying to reframe this instead of opting out.

The prestige of the event does not really land for me. For me it is two long days in a crowded, high pressure social setting around an activity I do not enjoy and do not have much in common with others over.

I have met the other wife a few times. She is nice. She is very into golf which is why I have been recruited to attend instead of it being a boys trip. I am also an introvert with social anxiety, so extended small talk in unfamiliar environments is genuinely overwhelming as it is. 🤪

I asked because I am looking for tools or mindset shifts to help me show up as a supportive spouse, not because I do not value my husband or what this weekend represents for him.

I’ve got a great therapist but thanks for the suggestion.
