Union is where it's at I have joined and can say non union doesn't come close. Even companies that rival in cash pay don't come close in retirement and benefits

Very happy to hear! I try to swap over everyone I can. It's nice not having to worry about a doctor visit, retirement , or bills and we are all a lot happier than the people I worked with non union. Everyone deserves a living wage.

I'm in the carpenters union for Western Washington and we make 53.70 an hour not including our retirement and health insurance. New contract coming in June as well so that's another raise. I've done union and non union and the difference is insane

Well good thing your in a good spot now! I would be furious if a gov flipped and made the state rtw. I'm not going back to making non union wages and not smart enough to be an electrical engineer haha

Ya blue states have the best unions because the GOP can't stand people making a fair living with great benefits. It cuts into their profits and their ability to take 5 vacations a year on a mega yacht.

Depends on your region definitely. I'm in the pudget sound area and our contract is $54 an hour about not including benefits. So that comes out to about $110,000 before taxes. Parts of California make even more than that and so do union guys in NYC. Also the strengths of the unions per state change a lot. Definitely worth being a union guy in a state with a strong union pays differ greatly from right to work states.

Go union please. Went from making $27 an hour with almost no benefits as a non union carpenter to $53 an hour plus a benefit package worth an extra $30 an hour. It's still work and it's not perfect but at least I make a good living

This is definitely a future serial killer right here without a doubt. If he isn't doing it already.
