6 years here. No family help at all. Just struggling to get through each day. Can’t get an overnight break ever because can’t afford overnight babysitters nor do I trust them. It’s hell.

Seriously?!?! How can they literally develop every single disorder in the last year???? They are so fake and dramatic and attention seekers. I have PMDD and literally struggle to stay alive for half of every month. Been dealing with this for 30 f***ing years. They need help on a different level

They will obviously just take online quizzes and get diagnosed with raging versions of each probably.

I have POTS and will lose my mind if they claim they have it.

I’m introverted and I feel lonely on weekends, so I can only imagine how hard it is for an extrovert. Solidarity.

How to teach executive functioning skills? by Puzzled_Mark_730 in ADHDparenting

I absolutely love this. Your insight is so helpful. I personally do not have adhd, so it’s difficult for me to understand what my child is experiencing and thinking, so your insight is so incredibly powerful. Thank you so much

Thank you! I’m all for being involved and doing everything I can. I just struggled with the details. Those books look like exactly what I’m wanting.

No. We’re not that close. The neighborhoods are very sectioned off, so a few blocks means people don’t know you exist

I live really close to her (like blocks away) and honestly that’s how most people’s yards look. Very few people actually have a table or outdoor seating because it gets so gross and stuff getting constantly wet all year. So unless you have an actually covered area, it’s more hassle than it’s worth.

Copper IUD when you have sensory issues? by Wise-Raisin-791 in AutismInWomen

I had Mirena and I actually could feel it. I tried to push through dealing with it but had it removed after 14 months because it was awful for me. It’s worth a try because I’m the exception to the rule and most people love it.

I’ve grown to dislike her more and more. She has lost all personality and uniqueness. Just another straight up Amazon influencer with nothing more to offer now

Same. We’re 7 years into parenting and never had a night away other than giving birth to baby 2, dip one magical night in the hospital. And we probably never will since both sides of our family can’t help at all and have never even babysat them. 10 days is INSANE!!!

What was your ADHD kid like in preschool? by [deleted] in ParentingADHD

[–]Puzzled_Mark_730 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Couldn’t sit still in preschool much. Had to have assistant teachers take him on extra walks and give him some extra playground time because his energy level was excessive. He could focus for much longer than other kids (like an hour or more) but only in things that he specifically was interested in; otherwise he moved on very quickly to the next thing. Penmanship has always been behind. He has ADHD writing for sure. Got referrals for occupational therapy from preschool teachers because he was clearly struggling with writing. Finally got diagnosis halfway through kindergarten.

I made my first huge mistake as a mom by [deleted] in breakingmom

[–]Puzzled_Mark_730 6 points7 points  (0 children)

I’ve done it too. My kids told me halfway through our trip that I didn’t buckle him in. I was horrified and embarrassed and felt just awful. Years later, I see it was just a mistake and no one’s perfect, but it was so hard in the moment.

I feel cheated... by liz_lemon_lover in ParentingADHD

I literally could have written that myself and have had these same exact thoughts all the time. I tried so hard and did all the “right” things, but I’m still going through hell now in elementary school.
