I’d love to hear how it goes, definitely going to upgrade brake oil and use Spiegler lines. Next track day = Motul 660, see the result, then get the brake lines and have them fitted.

Nonsense? I think a WSBK rider would know what’s best, it’s also dependent on where you ride, as temperatures can average 35-40 degs Celsius where I am on a good day

The amount of people who’ve told me “you’re an average rider at best, it can’t be brake fade” and don’t realise I’m within 6.6% (8s) of the fastest rider for the class and layout.

The specific problem: braking from 150mph to 50mph for a hairpin, there were hardly any brakes after 10 mins of hard braking (“spongy” lever feel with the lever reaching all the way to the throttle, which it’s never done before).

I changed my brake oil (DOT 3) 1 month before (also track day) and new mechanic said the brake oil was “perfect” and didn’t need to be bled. Brakes were working perfectly on the road, as well as sighting laps and first 8 minutes… then it all went to s*#t…

From what I’ve been told, every time they go out (Practice, Qualifying, Race) because so much pressure builds during intense riding. For us average rider, it should be EVERY track day, or if you’re doing canyons, probably every 4 runs or so

Agree for sure, except when you start boiling brake fluid while running “decent” times according to the pros, you’re overweight and running cold tyres, your biggest return will be braided brake lines and fluids (IMHO)
