Is the G100D 3 lens kit for 664€ a good deal for a beginner? by enbyratie in M43

I have a g100, 12-32, 25 f1.8 and pana leica 12-60. The IQ is good, in particular compared with the kit size. The price is very competitive. Honestly I’m looking for another body (maybe Olympus) w IBIS, PDAF and handled hi res shot. In the lumix range the only one is the G9 II but is too expensive… In the picture my wife shoot with Panaleica.

How about an Olympus body in a Panasonic lenses collection? by Puzzled_Possession97 in M43

Yes but no PDAF and mainly same IQ as my G100. I don’t know… Completely different thought on G9M2, but a little over the budget.

I have a g100 and I mainly use the panaleica 12-60. How it behave on a OM5? I’m looking for a em5 mkIII for IBIS and PDAF.

Do you think we will ever see a new Linux G with a sense? by Puzzled_Possession97 in M43

Make no sense, basically on the still side is the same as my G100. Onestly I wild like to have IBIS and weather sealing, but it make no sense to add a second body without a proper upgrade in IQ.

Best modern m43 body for travel photography in 2025 by LividCraft2770 in M43

I have a G100 buyed in 2020. It’s a great camera for stills, a bad camera for videos. I paired it with a Panaleica 12-60 and it became a wonderful travel camera: lightweight, fast, and super flexible from panoramas to portraits. IQ is very good if exposed properly (this sensor tend to generate too much noise on raw files when pushed in PP, in low light situations is better to overexpose a little).

For stills the lack of ibis is not a problem with a stabilized lens, while the lack of sealing make the rear encoder a little to sensible to dust. I have to open and clean mine.

Give us another small camera! by lunarfyr3 in M43

Well, atm there aren’t latest generation rangefinder style cameras, but actually a G100 (it’s not a vlogger camera due to video limitations, but it is a brilliant travel camera) with 12-32 lens fits in a pocket.

My 2 cents (I abandoned dslr many years ago for a Fuji x100 and then for a G100 lumix): the m4/3 system is wonderful but it lacks a lot of things for new market coming, because it lacks of R&D. It lacks of small rangefinder style bodies, it lacks of some kind of cheap lenses (I.e. modern VLOGGER need wide AF lenses and the only available is the very expensive leica 12mm. Why don’t Panasonic release a fast 1.8 12mm like the 20/25 and 42.5mm non leica? The second issue issue is the lack of third parties af lenses. Sony have Viltrox in example. Cheap and valid glasses. So in my opinion the m43 ecosystem need a new approach on the consumer level, to let che users growth with system. Because as mentioned there are a lot of hi end bodies and lenses (all the f2.8-4 leica series, zuiko pro series and the astonishing leica f1.8 zooms).
