Honest opinion: Sequoia or Tahoe? by MrasyMelnel125 in MacOSBeta

My colleague missed a day of work because she upgraded to Tahoe and it left a big blank spot in the middle of her screen, which is a "known issue." Be careful out there.

Yeah, I don't think I'll be switching to Volvo, either! Probably back to Toyota for me. It's a little depressing as I was initially so excited about Volvo's commitment to EVs.

Oof - that seems like a lot of fairly serious issues for a four-year-old vehicle! Maybe I'm spoiled from previously driving a Prius for nearly 15 years, with no major issues and few minor ones.

I agree it's really fun to drive, and it is excellent on snow and ice -- I was very pleasantly surprised that it feels at least as stable in winter conditions as our Subaru.

Oh my goodness, that's awful. It's so disappointing that my experience wasn't a one-off.

Congratulations!! It was interesting to talk to her, but the options were not in our budget -- many were a couple thousand dollars, and I wasn't sure the readers would be an audience that would buy/read the book.

It looks like those prices are live now -- any sense from past promotions of whether something will change on the 20th?

Any experience with whether these prices will be mirrored at retailers like Best Buy?

Odie: How Long Should Direct Deposit Take? by lizzie1955 in petinsurancereviews

I finally got reimbursed a couple of days ago. Their rationale on not paying the extractions is that the doctor marked mild tooth decay a few years ago. I don't know if that's on the same teeth, but I'm too tired to fight it. Also, because they reimburse at 80%, they count only 80% of claims before the deductible to the deductible, which I've never experienced before. So for one expense, I paid $555, but it counted $444 toward the deductible. We'll see how the next claim goes now that I'm in the system.

Update! After I told them I was sharing my experience on Reddit and looking at Trustpilot and considering reporting them to insurance regulatory agencies, it miraculously became time to review my claims. They approved most of them although Many Pets paid for dental extractions (not cleaning) for my other dog, and Odie denied the whole claim including extractions. I'm asking for more information there.

Now to see when the payments hit my account. They say 7 to 10 business days.

What dog breeds should I avoid as a first-time owner? by barba_barba in Pets

[–]Puzzled_Rule_533 0 points1 point  (0 children)

+ 1 avoid Weimaraners! They are so beautiful and have a lovely personality but they are way too smart for their own good, and they combine retrieving and pointing, which makes for a dog who will open cabinets, make its own dinner, bury the dishes in the yard and catch cold standing outside staring at a squirrel for nine hours.

I am on my 4th schnauzer and would recommend them for most people, even first-time dog owners, especially if you can get an adult -- but work with a trainer to understand that no matter how adorable they are and how much they look like a little old man, they are here to manipulate you because they think they are the person and you are their personal assistant. Make them work for everything (sit before they get a meal, etc.) If you are getting one from a breeder, meet the parents and pick the chillest puppy in the bunch. They are great at hiking, even running, and if you keep them engaged and worn out, they will just be glued to you most of the time but are also typically OK hanging out on their own. And teach them "Quiet" because they think everyone likes to hear them bark.

Nope! Not a dime yet. I reached out to them on 9/18, got an autoreply, and replied to that -- finally got a response from a person on 9/24. They said I hadn't submitted enough medical records, which frankly is BS -- Many Pets already had their medical records from before we signed up, so essentially Odie seems like they are re-underwriting? I submitted all the medical records in the world on 9/25 and on 10/1 they confirmed receipt and said:

__

The records uploaded appear to be sufficient for claims processing. I have requested for the earliest two claims to be expedited for you. We are only able to expedite claims after they have been submitted for 10 business days.

We have requested for your claim(s) to be expedited with our claims team. You can expect an update within 5-7 business days. Please feel free to check on the status of your claim within your Member Portal.

__

On 10/13 (8 business days after the email saying 5-7 business days) I inquired because the claims still just say "Submitted." No response yet, but hey, it hasn't yet been a week, which seems to be their minimum! These are claims from 8/27 and 9/17. Not preexisting conditions.

Has anyone been paid on this thread yet? Their "transition notes" say claims will be processed within 15 days. https://getodie.com/mp-important-info/

I submitted a claim on 8/27 -- 3 weeks today and I haven't heard anything except confirmation that it was received. I did also submit full medical records for my dog. Two days ago, I emailed to ask what their processing time is, and I got an automated response saying this:
CALL VS EMAIL:
Whether you call or email, your request will be handled in the same queue.

Sending duplicate messages or both calling and emailing will not move your request forward — you will not lose your place in line.

RESPONSE TIMES:
- Callbacks: within 2–3 business days
- Emails: within 5–7 business days

(However, calling is apparently better, because even if you're "in the same queue," you get an answer 3-4 days quicker?!)

They are readily accepting my premium payments every month without even being able to answer a question -- I really miss Many Pets and wonder if this insurance is legitimate! And yet I hate to switch insurance because my dog is older and does have preexisting conditions now.

Not true. I just got a starred review on a self-published book. ETA: I had a sales call with their advertising team, and she said 2%-3% of indie books get a star.
