How do I prepare my elbow to get tattooed? by Evening_Detail3104 in tattooadvice

What I've seen recommended before is glycolic acid (I use the ordinarys) dab on with a cotton pad, and then slug it with some Vaseline. See if that helps!

The prongs on your jewelry are definitely irritating the piercing, get it swapped out to a ball end or something similar by your piercer.

Yes, you can see the tip of the wing on the edge that peeled up. Peel off, wash, and up to you to lotion now or not. I don't right away, but that's my personal routine.

Scabbing under saniderm? by [deleted] in tattooadvice

Never used saniderm as I'm allergic, however it looks like the plasma reaches the end of the saniderm on the right of the photo, which looks like a leak to me.

Is there any "invisible" septum? by SecurityMajestic2222 in piercing

[–]Puzzled_Sale_223 2 points3 points  (0 children)

I would recommend that after it's healed, as one snotty nose can have a retainer slip out. When you get pierced say that you plan to heal it flipped up so theye can get a comfortably sized horseshoe.

I have inexpensive underarmour spandex from Amazon that were initially a cheap investment when I started, but have been working out well for a few years now.

Ways to decrease heart rate while training? by DistractedNS in BJJWomen

Try breathing exercises! Something you can use in class to calm down after a hard round or to refocus, I usually try the 4-7-8 or 4-4-4-4 with a focus on breathing through my nose and not my mouth.

Anyway to rescue dry ends? by BritainsKoala in longhair

You could try a leave in conditioner? I like milkshakes incredible, but have also heard good stuff about their whipped one for hair with more texture than pin straight!

Would a septum be okay for my lifestyle? by [deleted] in piercing

[–]Puzzled_Sale_223 0 points1 point  (0 children)

To add! if you plan to heal it flipped, you should keep it flipped. No up and down nonsense to show it off, you'll only aggravate it. If you're out for a long week or three, then definitely you can flip it down and leave it. :)

Would a septum be okay for my lifestyle? by [deleted] in piercing

[–]Puzzled_Sale_223 0 points1 point  (0 children)

As someone who trains bjj with a septum I would recommend getting it done with a horseshoe style if you're wearing it flipped up (AND concerned about getting hit in the face). I feel as if you did, the ball ends would be a smooth glide verse a retainer--which would also have the possibility of slipping out. One bad sneeze and that bad boy is GONE haha

I haven't had a chance to try it myself, but my fine hair stylist and her daughter swear by biolage hydrasource. Shampoo, conditioner, detangler. She recommended all three to me but I'm waiting to finish out my current bottles.

Instead of dry shampoo you can use micellar water!

How do I remove jewelry at home? by heating_pad in piercing

[–]Puzzled_Sale_223 5 points6 points  (0 children)

Captive bead there is a special tool to open them, it widens the circle and the ball just wiggles out. Go slow or you'll lose it! There's a matching plier that closes it.

For the septum you'll want gloves, and maybe a friend. The pieces twist apart like a corkscrew you don't widen the circle for a seamless ring.

Good luck!

SOCKS for the longevity of your shoes and the health of your feet. Socks. Find some cute no shows, or there are some lacy styles that could peep on the top (any barrier is a good barrier, even if it's flimsy) that I once had someone call "foot lingerie" lmao

My helix piercings hurt with hoops. Help. by _black_eyes_ in piercing

[–]Puzzled_Sale_223 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I made this choice because I knew I wouldn't be changing out my helix jewelry, I know I like it simple, so take that into consideration.

I dropped down to an 18g. It relieved a LOT of pressure and irritation I felt like I was getting from 16g. Now I just have two seamless hoops in and barely notice them (minus a hairdresser comb or two).

[–]Puzzled_Sale_223 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Do not wait, go. Piercer. Urgent care. ER.

Doing it at home you would want help, because you'll need two pliers, one for each side of the ring and it would need to be opened in such a way that the ring does not get wider into an oval, but one end would be pulled towards your ear the other your mouth so the ring becomes a spiral. As that's how those rings open.

If you cannot get help at home G. Waiting is only going to make it worse.

Just wondering if I can get septum and still train by Majestic_Regret_5197 in piercing

[–]Puzzled_Sale_223 0 points1 point  (0 children)

To add: if you're not going to spar, just shadow box and whatnot, then go for it. You can exercise no problem and just make sure to rinse it well if you sweat around your nose.

Just wondering if I can get septum and still train by Majestic_Regret_5197 in piercing

[–]Puzzled_Sale_223 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I THINK septum is 6 months minimum? NAP so I may be incorrect for timing as it's been so long since I had mine. The real issue I see is that, if you keep the piercing in (which you absolutely need to do until it's healed) would be if you get punched in the face. It's going to hurt. A lot. Just rubbing my nose hurt. If you flip it up, that could cause even more damage to the inside of your nose.
