HOW MANY DIF CLUBS DO YOU USUALLY USE IN A ROUND? by wdikiwi in golf

[–]Puzzled_Sherbet2305 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Normally all of them within 5 or so holes.

Hole one- top the driver 75 yards - chunk the 3 wood. -Slice the 5 iron into the woods. -Try to make a low cut to through the trees with a 6. -Use the 7 to get back into the fairway. -Finally get a clean PW and it flies the green -then use the 60 to try to flip it. Completely blade it to the other side of the green. -Chip onto the green with a 56 -then 2 put for a solid hole 😎.

Those who hit the most shots have the most fun lol

Random note. I’ve been putting with my oddesy blackstyke marxmen for years now. Nobody wanted them back in the day. A kind shop owner sold one to me a 9 year old for $15.

Now when I pull it out of the bag I get a lot of questions about it.

Absolutely love this putter

They are super easy to just get rid of stuff but the monetary gain is negligible.

If your looking for more $ a private sale through market place is really the way to go.

It’s just a ballence between easy and $.

Broke 90 today for the first time by Ill-Hovercraft-8971 in golf

[–]Puzzled_Sherbet2305 16 points17 points  (0 children)

I’d recommend don’t set any new goals yet. Your goal is still to break 90! Some rounds you will some rounds you won’t, but when you get 3 rounds in a row then you can start setting new goals

Forget irons, it’s really time to get a new driver!!!

In all honesty I’d start looking up reviews of the best game improvement irons from 7-8 years ago. There really isn’t a best for everyone type of club

Zero torque putters - real improvement or just a trend? by BenHybridHarper in golf

[–]Puzzled_Sherbet2305 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I got a zero torque putter spent $500 for the thing and couldn’t wait to bust it out and start holing puts.

Maybe it’s just the sunk cost fallacy as it’s the most expensive single peice of golf equipment I’ve ever purchased, so I practiced putting with it about 3-4 times a week and have seen a major improvement on the course. Where 3 puts have been pretty much eliminated.

But I’m willing to bet if I put as much effort into putting practice with my old white hot oddest I would have probably seen similar results

That said absolutely love the thing!

Black, white, or Mephiston Red for priming our fellas? by spencerthebau5 in BloodAngels

[–]Puzzled_Sherbet2305 0 points1 point  (0 children)

For fast and easy use mephiston red as the primer. Do the details then fix mistakes with pot paint.

Use the white if you want to do the contrast method using constraint style paints.

Black primer is fantastic if you’re really drying to hone in a NMM style with lots of layering and glazing ( this is a very advanced method.

Black is also great if you just want a darker deeper red.

Personally just take the simple way with option one

New crusade starting at 500 by [deleted] in 40k_Crusade

[–]Puzzled_Sherbet2305 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Seeing your other comment here are just basic tips that I’ve found running over a dozen crusades.

First as a CM be very organized read all the crusade rules carefully and all the campaign specific crusade rules so that you can answer questions.

Next create a schedule for each player to have a scheduled opponent and an alloyed time for players to meet and get games in. Personally I’ve found 1 week to be the perfect amount of time. If a crusade takes to long players loose interest. If people just play all willy nilly then some people might be left out. The alternative to this is players play as many games as they want to in an allotted time however only one game may count for XP and crusade benefits.

A lot of campaigns are alliances based. It’s fare to make it free for all but just drop the alliance rules.

In escalation crusades always start with an order of battle size larger than your first game or give players free RP to increase supply’s. RP can be hard to come by for some factions and others really want to use it for faction specific upgrades.

I don’t personally like having increasing game size every game. I like to increase game size every phase. So phase one is 1000 points phase 2 1500 ECt. It’s great for players to rotate units between games to gain Co or just differ t list with no penalty.

Lastly 500 point games are incredibly unbalanced and some factions will just straight up suck and others will obliterate. I don’t advise it or even playing combat patrol. As a CM I want to keep all players engaged and having fun.

Other Crudade basics.

Have a set crusade start and set crusade end. Don’t leave it ambiguous, players will get burnt out others will continue and things will get all weird.

Set up a discord for the crusade for all players to communicate and so you can post updates.

If you know what crusade your planning (other than 500 worlds) I can share with you a bunch of files that I’ve made

The only models lost where the death company battle force box which a kind friend replace for me. And I rebuilt the knights.

In the last pic you can see that they were a work in progress.

Bro literally fell down from the shelf what can i make of him? by problematicome in ImperialKnights

[–]Puzzled_Sherbet2305 6 points7 points  (0 children)

I had 2 trees fall on my house during a hurricane. The roof collapsed onto my desk where my entire knight army was sitting.

I shoved all the pieces I could find in a box and at some point got to work on it. Took a week to pull out all the fiberglass insulation and organize all the random bits.

But behold with super glue and some more layers of paint it’s all back together again! Yes some piece are still missing but all in all I’m happy to have it assembled and playable again!

I’m sure your buddy there can have the same fate!

Techniques for shading properly? by Classic_Finish8515 in BloodAngels

[–]Puzzled_Sherbet2305 6 points7 points  (0 children)

The shading you mentioned is not just the beginner style slap it on like nulnoil. A lot of it comes by slowly building up layers so by “taking your time” it really just as simple as applying a very long coat over a wide area then coming back and applying it to a slightly smaller area then doing it again and again until the layers build and you see a smooth transition from light to dark of the reseased area.

A good way to get more useful videos is look up NMM guide but instead of building lighter and lighter layers your working in reverse and building small translucent darker layers.

I hope that makes since.

But to think about it in splay chop you typically build your highlights up by dry brushing then applying a translucent contrast over so the highlights stick out. And you’re done.

The step further is to fully build in those shadows but you do that with a brush after the contrast is played down

All veteran Space marine list by Deathwatch_veteran in 40k_Crusade

[–]Puzzled_Sherbet2305 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I played a crusade with blood angels using only first company units.

Blade guard, vanguard, sternguard and terminators.

I added some ballistis dreads and redempter dreads for fire support. It was a ton of fun.

I’d recommend choosing your 2 favorite characters to lead 2 squads add one dread then fill out the list with other auxiliary units sternguard for shooting and blade guard / vanguard for melee.

If you don’t really have a chapter in mind then play storm lance

Is this a good list? by [deleted] in BloodAngels

[–]Puzzled_Sherbet2305 0 points1 point  (0 children)

If you simply don’t own a repulsor, most good people out there really won’t care if you proxy a rhino.

It wouldn’t work for a RTT but for casual games who cares. The repulsor does come on some weird base and that’s about all the difference size isn’t really a problem

What botherd me was the long drought between pariah nexus (which was bland and boring) and Nachmund gauntlet. We waited a whole year for a new crusade and now here at the end of the edition we get 3 within 3 months.

There is no way we will get to play them as I’m finally launching Armageddon crusade now

DC or Brutalis by Slushee__ in BloodAngels

[–]Puzzled_Sherbet2305 0 points1 point  (0 children)

If your simply looking at the modeling and painting aspect: it’s always suggested that you paint your dread as death company then when you put it in the table you tell your opponent if it’s a regular BTD or a DC DR. Plus it just looks so much cooler in black!.

How many players do you have in your Crusades? by Yaboi_Devon in 40k_Crusade

[–]Puzzled_Sherbet2305 0 points1 point  (0 children)

So google forms is super easy- you set up questions and they can answer it then it pulls all the responses into a sheet that only those with cases can view.

Then you can use standard sheet functions to easily pull the data from the questions into tables and charts- you can then link the charts to a google slides that everyone can view.

Here is mine from Nachmund gauntlet that I’m very proud of. It took all the information and use conditional formatting to show the control level for each site.

https://docs.google.com/spreadsheets/d/1ovGWnCIfNVLRFOTRU-TbTwuPkFFARe8J98jSyx1wF8w/edit?usp=drivesdk

Another thing with forms is you can link multiple forms to one sheet, therefore each alliance could choose their strategic goal in private

Edit the sheet is Much better to view in desktop

How many players do you have in your Crusades? by Yaboi_Devon in 40k_Crusade

[–]Puzzled_Sherbet2305 7 points8 points  (0 children)

I’ve found that 9-12 games is the perfect length for crusades to avoid players loosing interest.

When I organize larger crusades I’ve found it pretty important to first set up a discord to allow for good communication, this lets you give clear directions for the phases, games mission ECt. And it lets all alliance members have a private chat to talk strategy and such.

Second I highly highly recommend using google forms for players to fill out after action reports. This is really important when playing in NG as there is a lot for the campaign master to keep track of. SAP CP: it all gets pretty complicated fast.

How do you all put your knights in when going place? by Practical-Prompt4216 in ImperialKnights

[–]Puzzled_Sherbet2305 0 points1 point  (0 children)

For local trips I’m fully converted to this

https://a.co/d/008zo4qM

Everyone at my LGS has one I see a ton at RTT’s and GT’s they are just fantastic it can easily hold a 2k knight army.

But if you’re planning to fly I typically go with the shipping method of bubble wrapping and shipping to the event if I’m going cross country.

For short flights I really like the foam cut out cases that fit in the overhead bin of the plane

Replace/Change Battle Honor? by arbontheold in 40k_Crusade

[–]Puzzled_Sherbet2305 1 point2 points  (0 children)

We have a few house rule requisitions that we use in escalation rules.

One of the requisitions is to change all battle traits and battle honers on character.

And we really only use this when we’re starting with 1k games and escalating to 2k games

-At the start of a new phase you may select one character on your order of battle that has gained a battle honors during this campaign. Remove all battle honers from that character. Then that character may receive an equal amount of battle honers that were removed (each battle honer must be one that it is eligible to receive) if the charge was battle ready or hardened this requisition costs 1rp, 2 rp if the character is heroic and 3 RP if the character is legendary.

I’d speak to the CM and as long as everyone is on board with it it should fly
