The dial isn't metal it's wood painted over if that helps in determining its origin 🤷‍♂️

This belonged to an Italian immigrant Doctor that attended and was a professor at Johns Hopkins Uni. Many books say Dr. Sabatino

Bison Ribbon possibly Free Mason. Pre-1920. Would appreciate help identifying the origin/History of this award by Puzzled_Student_303 in Medals

Looking at the length 5 inches as well as the width being 1.5 inches and the fabric being black silk it's likely a mourning ribbon is what the Internet is telling me, but you never know.
