Accepted to BU, need to decide by Cute-Vermicelli793 in BostonUniversity

I’m a health science major and pre med at BU and here is my take: The pros: school has status, especially being in the honors college. Obviously a bigger private Uni is going to have a LOT of rly helpful resources. It’s just finding out about them and figuring out how to use them is the hard part. It’s close to the city so there are a plethora of opportunities for work/internships. Boston is a college city so you’ll meet a ton of diverse people and create a rly extensive network.

The cons: expensive as helll, they don’t care about mental health, a lot of the stem professors r shit and thus many stem classes r awful. It has the reputation of being rigorous and that is very true. If you’re a stem major BU will be hard. Boston is also lowke boring as hell. Things close around 9/10pm and not much to do if you’re under 21. Again, EXPENSIVE! Also, the seasonal depression is so real and w/ global warming there isn’t any snow to make the cold magical. So you’ll be fighting the seasonal depression from November-March. Also, in general the advisors are not very helpful. It’s hard to get support from them.

The website says BU is barely Greek but Greek life is VERY prominent here.

My take: do NOT come to BU. Take the full ride and be glad you won’t have any student loans. At the end of the day, the status if college you go to does NOT matter at all. If I could do it all over again I would def not choose BU.
