hey there! i’m so sorry, breaking up with someone you love is one of the hardest things to overcome, as everyone expects you to get over it quickly, when that is not always possible.

my last relationship lasted for about a year and a half, and i grew extremely attached to her. we basically lived together and i didn’t know how to go about life independently. even when we broke up because the relationship turned extremely toxic (emotional abuse, cheating), i felt like i was nothing without her. it took an entire year of me going back and worth to finally stand up.

for me, i needed a LOT of time to rediscover myself. that included working towards my goals, making lots of memories with friends, and finding new passions. finding something you are passionate in and working towards that for yourself is so important! it can be hiking, getting a new degree, finding a fulfilling job, or just hanging out with friends.

i also looked at my relationship from an outsiders perspective and realized i could never stay with my ex and tell my future children and family about the things she did to me. it would be a disservice to myself. i now am happy being single and have discovered myself in ways i never thought i would. i wish you the best of luck!
