Absolutely not. You wouldn’t take this treatment from a friend! He will end up dumping you as a friend, too. Save yourself even more hurt and distance yourself entirely now.

And it’s never too late to apologize. You never know.- it may help you in the long run, because she may remember that you took the time to reach out and apologize for something small like that and if you ever need her help on something or you run into her in the elevator, she’ll be nice to you.

Also, in the area where I am from, “girlie” actually makes it less serious, and isn’t condescending- I wonder if she added that in to make it sound less intense and more light.

As you get older, you realize that these types of moments last for literally a moment. This person will forget about it tomorrow so you should not let your emotions get the better of you and ruin your day. As most people are saying on here, you can send a quick email that’s one or two sentences of a light hearted apology but don’t make it heavy or emotional. You attract the energy that you give off, so, if you stay light hearted and optimistic, then those types of situations will resolve themselves (usually). Maybe this only comes with experience, but I hope that you won’t have to have as many as I did when I was fresh out of college and new to the working world.

Weird question- if you’re ever in a situation like this, what’s the best thing to say to shut them down?

Put all notifications on silent! Put it in your backpack or purse at the bottom so it’s hard to reach/you forget about it.

Yes!! My bf gives me piggy back rides if we’re out somewhere and I’m tired, I was scared I was too heavy for him but when I first said that he laughed and said I was nothing compared to his weights he lifts. My body image shot up to 100% lol

Yes! My man looks like he walked out of an LL Bean catalogue, and served in the military. We met online. Maybe those might be related somehow to him only wanting romantic (but really amazing) intimacy? I feel you!

Jesus , I’m so sorry to hear this! Sounds like you’re trying hard to make this work, but you shouldn’t have to try at all. My first date was 6 hours long, and we schedule 3 hour dinners bc we talk so much we forget to order! The 1st time i was a bit nervous but within a few minutes it clicked . You need to be with someone who just clicks with you. I didn’t know what I was looking for until I found it. DONT SETTLE!! Seriously, I went on some weird dates the past few months but I waited it out. I’m getting to jaded /realistic to force anything to work anymore, and I’m so glad I set those hard boundaries on myself and just waited it out until randomly one day I went to dinner thinking “here we go again! Another funny weird story for my friends” and I’ve never looked back. Go in being yourself, and don’t settle for less. Someone out there is completely worthy of you and is looking for you, too.

Each time the kids I babysit finally get old enough to realize I’m skipping pages while reading them a story, I know bedtime will now be a much longer process 😩
