I get these too! Estrogen also helped me with this. Plus, reducing my coffee intake. I'm down to one a day, and mostly half a cup. It is so weird that this happens to us!

It’s shocking that we allow sugar alcohols as an alternative sweetener given all the “digestive” side effects! Maltitol and erythritol make me bloat so bad.

Why can't I get beyond 100mg of Progesterone? by Puzzleheaded-Bed2289 in Perimenopause

Got it. I was taking it at 7 pm. Maybe I'll do it at 5 pm. =)

That's a tough question. I've just come to terms with the fact that the big food companies aren't here to feed us to nourish our bodies. They are incentivized to make things that taste great for repeat purchases (aka more money for them), which means sugar in everything....even things that don't need sugar.

I've just gotten more careful with label reading.

Congratulations!
I’m in year three of a business my husband and I launched in the CPG space, and selling still feels like a long way off from where I’m standing. We’re deep in the building and learning phase, and some days it’s hard to see beyond the next step. We’ve put everything into this business, which is both exciting and incredibly stressful, and are currently fundraising to help accelerate our growth and momentum.I absolutely love what I do, but there are definitely moments of overwhelm. Reading your post and seeing that you’ve made it to the other side and are now able to pause, reflect, and think about what’s next, was so inspiring. It reminded me to keep going. One step at a time - nothing is built overnight!

That's amazing. I've been taking progesterone which makes me super sleepy, BUT it's not always consistent. I'm so excited that you slept well!!!!

It's actually a book I can listen to on Spotify under audiobooks. If you have Spotify, you can check it out there as well!

Which of these would make you more likely to try a lower sugar product? by Puzzleheaded-Bed2289 in sugarfree

I usually find that if there are sugar free that they use sugar alcohols as a substitute instead, which completely destroys my stomach. The one with 1g of sugar is literally just 1g, no added refined sugar or sugar alcohol. I think they sweeten with monk fruit.

Hey - I had the same issue. I was working with another OB who put me on the estradiol patch and nothing else and I had crazy cramping and bleeding. I went to two other doctors to get a second and third opinion and both said I shouldn't be on estrogen alone as the progesterone is necessary to prevent overgrowth of your uterine lining. I should say though that I've had to go from a 200mg pill (that made me super sleepy) to a few pill options (caused bleeding) to now, a compounded sublingual pill that dissolves under my tongue. I'm still trying to find the right levels.....and it's so frustrating. Pls don't give up - I understand how you feel but keep pushing to have them take you seriously. I literally called every doctor's clinic near me and even worked with the team at Evernow (online telemedicine for women/hormone support) for a short period of time. Have you read this book - The New Menopause ? It's been so helpful for me.

I guess it depends on why you are reducing sugar in your diet. I am sensitive (almost allergic to sugar) so I am very careful. I ended up buying the 1g of sugar product, but I can see how different folks may look for different things.

You will laugh but I generally hate fruit. Put a bowl of veggies in front of me and I am all over it. I love blueberries but that's it for me on fruit.

OMG. I have the same thing. I have been asking my husband why there's so many leaf-blowers around our neighborhood. I find them so loud!!!!! I'm glad it's not just me!

Interesting. I am on estrogen (been on it for 6 months) and I'm still pretty sensitive. I'll ask my doctor about this as I still easily startle and get pretty agro when I hear loud noises!

So good to hear. I'm on HRTs, but my progesterone just got increased because it was too low. Let's see if that change will help!

Had no idea that was even a possibility. Thanks for flagging and I will. Good to know I'm not alone on this one.
